Classification of Follicular Thyroid Tumors by Molecular Signature: Results of Gene Profiling

TL;DR: Insight is provided into genes that may be important in the molecular pathogenesis of follicular thyroid tumors, as well as candidates for preoperative diagnosis of follicle thyroid carcinoma.
Journal ArticleDOI

High prevalence of vitamin D deficiency in type 1 diabetes mellitus and healthy children.

TL;DR: Vitamin D intake was very poor in children and it shows that supplementing infants with vitamin D might be a safe and effective strategy for reducing the risk of T1DM.
Journal ArticleDOI

Endoscopic ultrasound-guided fine-needle aspiration cytology diagnosis of solid-pseudopapillary tumor of the pancreas: a rare neoplasm of elusive origin but characteristic cytomorphologic features.

TL;DR: Clinical setting, cytomorphologic features, and immunostains of the cell block help distinguish SPTP from pancreatic endocrine tumors, acinar cell carcinoma, and papillary mucinous carcinoma.
Journal ArticleDOI

Cytokeratin immunoreactivity in Ewing's sarcoma: Prevalence in 50 cases confirmed by molecular diagnostic studies

TL;DR: This work performed immunohistochemical studies with antibodies CAM5.2 and AE1/AE3 on 50 cases of ES/PNET diagnosed at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center in which molecular evidence of a specific ES/ PNET-associated translocation were available, finding no significant association between cytokeratin expression and the following parameters: patient age, sex, skeletal and extraskeletal primary site, and the type of EWS fusion transcript.
Journal ArticleDOI

Endoscopic Ultrasound–Guided Fine-Needle Aspiration Cytology Diagnosis of Solid-Pseudopapillary Tumor of the Pancreas

TL;DR: Clinical setting, cytomorphologic features, and immunostains of the cell block help distinguish SPTP from pancreatic endocrine tumors, acinar cell carcinoma, and papillary mucinous carcinoma.
