Journal ArticleDOI
Noninvasive Diagnosis by Doppler Ultrasonography of Fetal Anemia Due to Maternal Red-Cell Alloimmunization
Giancarlo Mari,Russell L. Deter,Robert L. Carpenter,Feryal Rahman,Roland Zimmerman,Kenneth J. Moise,Karen F. Dorman,Avi Ludomirsky,Rogelio Gonzalez,Ricardo Gomez,Utku Oz,Laura Detti,Joshua A. Copel,Ray O. Bahado-Singh,Stanley M. Berry,Juan Martinez-Poyer,Sean C. Blackwell +16 more
TL;DR: Fetal hemoglobin concentrations increased with increasing gestational age in the 265 normal fetuses, and the peak velocity of systolic blood flow in the middle cerebral artery was measured by Doppler velocimetry.
Journal ArticleDOI
ISUOG Practice Guidelines: use of Doppler ultrasonography in obstetrics
Amar Bhide,Ganesh Acharya,Caterina M. Bilardo,Christoph Brezinka,D. Cafici,Edgar Hernandez-Andrade,Edgar Hernandez-Andrade,Karim D. Kalache,John Kingdom,Torvid Kiserud,Wesley Lee,Christoph Lees,Christoph Lees,Kwok Yin Leung,G. Malinger,Giancarlo Mari,Federico Prefumo,Waldo Sepulveda,Brian Trudinger +18 more
TL;DR: The International Society of Ultrasound in Obstetrics and Gynecology is a scientific organization that encourages sound clinical practice, teaching and research related to diagnostic imaging in women’s healthcare.
Journal ArticleDOI
Middle cerebral artery flow velocity waveforms in normal and small-for-gestational-age fetuses.
Giancarlo Mari,Russell L. Deter +1 more
TL;DR: The data indicate that the pulsatility index of the middle cerebral artery in the normal human fetus has a parabolic pattern during pregnancy and does not change significantly after delivery, and management of the small-for-gestational-age fetus may be aided by the study of themiddle cerebral artery waveforms.
Journal ArticleDOI
The Doppler cerebroplacental ratio and perinatal outcome in intrauterine growth restriction
Ray O. Bahado-Singh,Ertug Kovanci,Andrea Jeffres,Utku Oz,Ozgur Deren,Joshua A. Copel,Giancarlo Mari +6 more
TL;DR: In this paper, Doppler identification of the fetal brain-sparing effect strongly predicts outcome in fetuses at risk for intrauterine growth restriction, and the areas under the receiver-operator curves characteristics for the prediction of perinatal outcome with use of the cerebroplacental ratio were statistically very significant.
Journal ArticleDOI
Diagnosis of fetal anemia with doppler ultrasound in the pregnancy complicated by maternal blood group immunization
Giancarlo Mari,A. Adrignolo,Alfred Abuhamad,J. Pirhonen,D. C. Jones,A. Ludomirsky,Joshua A. Copel +6 more
TL;DR: Whether Doppler measurement of the fetal middle cerebral artery peak systolic velocity can be used to detect fetal anemia in pregnancies complicated by maternal blood group immunization is investigated.
