TL;DR: In this paper, an appropriately oriented dipole layer between contact and semiconductor in organic thin-film transistors (OTFTs) is proposed to improve charge injection by interposing an appropriate oriented dipoles layer between the contact and the semiconductor.

TL;DR: In this paper, the current-voltage curves measured on crystals with various thicknesses were analyzed by means of the space-charge-limited current model, and it was shown that the curves present a clear trap-filled transition that allows extracting the trap-free mobility along the $b$ axis.
Abstract: Rubrene single crystals with well-developed (100) faces extending along the [010] direction were equipped with two planar gold electrodes deposited under low thermal load on the same crystal surface. The current-voltage curves measured on crystals with various thicknesses were analyzed by means of the space-charge-limited current model. In all cases, the curves present a clear trap-filled transition that allows extracting the trap-free mobility along the $b$ axis. Working in a gap-type geometry and by comparing the mobility calculated from the Geurst two-dimensional and Mott--Gurney three-dimensional models, a clear 2D to 3D transition is established for a thickness that roughly corresponds to half the distance between the two electrodes. Further quantitative analysis of the data with a differential method leads to the conclusion that charge-transport properties at room temperature are affected by a discrete trap level pointing at $0.48\ifmmode\pm\else\textpm\fi{}0.02\phantom{\rule{0.3em}{0ex}}\mathrm{eV}$ above the valence band.

TL;DR: It is shown that on the vicinal surface the octanethiol monolayer (OT SAM) reproduces the nanopatterned staircase structure, giving rise to a new kind of molecular layer self-ordered on the nanometer scale.
Abstract: We investigate the influence of the native staircase nanostructure of a Au(111) vicinal surface upon the self-assembly of alkylthiols. Through a comparison with standard alkylthiol SAMs deposited on Au(111) flat surfaces, we show that on the vicinal surface the octanethiol monolayer (OT SAM) reproduces the nanopatterned staircase structure, giving rise to a new kind of molecular layer self-ordered on the nanometer scale. The SAM's structure is determined by UHV STM and PM-IRRAS measurements and exhibits a specific behavior relative to the nanostructured substrate. The differences from the film grown on Au(111) are attributed to the influence of step edges on the molecular packing, leading to a specific 2D crystallographic order through the step edges.

TL;DR: In this paper, the simulation and design of a fully organic AMOLED pixel in which OLED current driving and pixel selection is performed by organic thin-film transistors (OTFTs).
Abstract: In this paper we implement the simulation and design of a fully organic AMOLED pixel in which OLED current driving and pixel selection is performed by organic thin-film transistors (OTFTs). An empirical SPICE-like OTFT model has been developed. A pixel with sandwich structure in which the OLED is deposited on top of the rest of the circuit has been simulated and designed.
