Hexahalometallate salts of trivalent scandium, yttrium and lanthanum: cation‒anion association in the solid state and in solution
TL;DR: In this article, the effect of varying the trivalent metal ion, the halide and the counter-cation on the structures adopted in the solid state has been examined for hexahalide salts.
Journal ArticleDOI
Lead(II) nitrate and hexafluorosilicate complexes with neutral diphosphine coordination
TL;DR: Rare examples of phosphine complexes of lead(II) are reported, and Adventitious oxygen readily form diphosphine dioxide complexes, using Pb(SiF6)·2H2O and Pb{o-C6H4(PMe2)2}, which has a chelating diph phosphine, the water molecule and a coordinated SiF6(2-) group, which results in an infinite polymer structure.
Journal ArticleDOI
Phase behaviour and conductivity of supporting electrolytes in supercritical difluoromethane and 1,1-difluoroethane
Xue Han,Jie Ke,Norhidayah Suleiman,Norhidayah Suleiman,William Levason,David Pugh,Wenjian Zhang,Gillian Reid,Peter Licence,Michael W. George,Michael W. George +10 more
TL;DR: Investigations into a variety of supporting electrolytes and supercritical fluids probing the phase and conductivity behaviour of these systems show that they not only provide sufficient electrical conductivity for an electrodeposition bath, but match the requirements imposed by the different precursors and process parameters, e.g. increased temperature, for potential deposition experiments.
Journal ArticleDOI
Tin(IV) fluoride complexes with neutral phosphine coordination and comparisons with hard N- and O-donor ligands
Rhys P. King,Madeleine S. Woodward,Julian Grigg,Graeme McRobbie,William Levason,Gillian Reid +5 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the reaction of trans-[SnF4(PMe3)2(OTf)n] with one, two or three equivalents of Me3SiO3SCF3 (TMSOTF), respectively, in anhydrous CH2Cl2 form six-coordinate [snF4−n(Pme3) 2(MTf) n] (n = 1−3), which have been characterised by microanalysis, IR and multinuclear NMR (1H, 19F{1H}, 31P{
Journal ArticleDOI
Sulfimidation--a new and versatile strategy for the post ring-closure derivatisation of mixed thia/oxa crowns.
TL;DR: Reaction of [18]aneO(5)S with the aminating agent MSH results in the cation which may be converted through to the linked crown system via deprotonation, bromination and reaction with the parent crown.
