Journal ArticleDOI
T cell apoptosis characterizes severe Covid-19 disease
Sonia André,Morgane Picard,Renaud Cezar,Florence Roux-Dalvai,Aurélie Alleaume-Butaux,Calaiselvy Soundaramourty,Andrew S. Cruz,Ana Mendes-Frias,C. Gotti,Mickael Leclercq,Alexandre Nicolas,Alexandra S. Tauzin,Alexandre Manuel Câmara de Carvalho,Carlos Capela,Jorge Pedrosa,António G. Castro,Lucy Kundura,Paul Loubet,Albert Sotto,Laurent Muller,Jean-Yves Lefrant,Claire Roger,Pierre-Géraud Claret,Sanja Duvnjak,Tu-Anh Tran,Gina Racine,Ouafa Zghidi-Abouzid,Pierre Nioche,Ricardo Silvestre,Arnaud Droit,Fabrizio Mammano,Pierre Corbeau,Jérôme Estaquier +32 more
TL;DR: Wang et al. as discussed by the authors found a strong positive correlation between plasma levels of soluble FasL (sFasL) and T cell surface expression of Fas/CD95 with the propensity of T cells to die and CD4 T cell counts.
Journal ArticleDOI
Analysis of Stage-Specific Expression of Basic Proteins in Leishmania infantum
Marie-Christine Brotherton,Gina Racine,Aude L. Foucher,Jolyne Drummelsmith,Barbara Papadopoulou,Marc Ouellette +5 more
TL;DR: Highly basic proteins were enriched by FFE fractionation, allowing many to be identified and characterized for the first time by proteomics analysis and evidence was obtained suggesting that some of these processes may be stage-specific.
Journal ArticleDOI
Exoproteome dynamics in Leishmania infantum
Nuno Santarém,Gina Racine,Ricardo Silvestre,Anabela Cordeiro-da-Silva,Anabela Cordeiro-da-Silva,Marc Ouellette +5 more
TL;DR: The exoproteome obtained from in vitro promastigote cultures provides new perspectives on Leishmania biology with the possibility of vesicles playing a major role in protein turnover and also in cell death.
Journal ArticleDOI
Early Loss of Splenic Tfh Cells in SIV-Infected Rhesus Macaques
Félicien Moukambi,Henintsoa Rabezanahary,Vasco Rodrigues,Gina Racine,Lynda Robitaille,Bernard Krust,Guadalupe Andreani,Calayselvy Soundaramourty,Ricardo Silvestre,Mireille Laforge,Jérôme Estaquier,Jérôme Estaquier +11 more
TL;DR: There is a significant decrease in splenic Tfh cells in SIVmac251-infected rhesus macaques (RMs) during the acute phase of infection, which persists thereafter, and a drastic remodeling of the lymphoid architecture of the spleen and LNs, which disrupts the crucial cell-cell interactions necessary to maintain memory B cells and T fh cells.
Journal ArticleDOI
Mitochondrial Proteomics of Antimony and Miltefosine Resistant Leishmania infantum.
TL;DR: This study is the first analysis of the Leishmania mitochondrial proteome and offers powerful insights into the adaptations to this organelle during SbIII and MIL drug resistance.
