Radial Versus Femoral Access for Coronary Interventions Across the Entire Spectrum of Patients With Coronary Artery Disease: A Meta-Analysis of Randomized Trials.
Giuseppe Ferrante,Sunil V. Rao,Peter Jüni,Bruno R. da Costa,Bernhard Reimers,Gianluigi Condorelli,Angelo Anzuini,Sanjit S. Jolly,Olivier F. Bertrand,Mitchell W. Krucoff,Stephan Windecker,Marco Valgimigli +11 more
TL;DR: Compared with femoral access, radial access reduces mortality and MACE and improves safety, with reductions in major bleeding and vascular complications across the whole spectrum of patients with CAD.
Journal ArticleDOI
ST-Elevation Myocardial Infarction in Patients With COVID-19: Clinical and Angiographic Outcomes.
Giulio G. Stefanini,Matteo Montorfano,Daniela Trabattoni,Daniele Andreini,Giuseppe Ferrante,Marco Ancona,Marco Metra,Salvatore Curello,Diego Maffeo,Gaetano Pero,Michele Cacucci,Emilio Assanelli,Barbara Bellini,Filippo Russo,Alfonso Ielasi,Maurizio Tespili,Gian Battista Danzi,Pietro Vandoni,Mario Bollati,Lucia Barbieri,Jacopo Oreglia,Corrado Lettieri,Alberto Cremonesi,Stefano Carugo,Bernhard Reimers,Gianluigi Condorelli,Alaide Chieffo +26 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors propose a method to solve the problem of "missing links".http://www.theguardian.com/blogs/blogs-and-blogs.
Journal ArticleDOI
An optical coherence tomography study of a biodegradable vs. durable polymer-coated limus-eluting stent: a LEADERS trial sub-study
Peter Barlis,Evelyn Regar,Patrick W. Serruys,Konstantinos Dimopoulos,Willem J. van der Giessen,Robert-Jan van Geuns,Giuseppe Ferrante,Simon Wandel,Stephan Windecker,Gerrit Anne van Es,Pedro Eerdmans,Peter Jüni,Carlo Di Mario +12 more
TL;DR: Strut coverage at an average follow-up of 9 months appears to be more complete in patients allocated to BESs when compared with SESs, and the impact on clinical outcome and, in particular, on the risk of late stent thrombosis is yet to be determined.
Journal ArticleDOI

TL;DR: The prespecified final 1-year outcomes of the MATRIX programme, designed to assess the comparative safety and effectiveness of radial versus femoral access and of bivalirudin versus unfractionated heparin with optional glycoprotein IIb/IIIa inhibitors in patients with the whole spectrum of acute coronary syndrome undergoing invasive management, are described.
Journal ArticleDOI
High Levels of Systemic Myeloperoxidase Are Associated With Coronary Plaque Erosion in Patients With Acute Coronary Syndromes A Clinicopathological Study
Giuseppe Ferrante,Masataka Nakano,Francesco Prati,Giampaolo Niccoli,Maria Teresa Mallus,Vito Ramazzotti,Rocco A. Montone,Frank D. Kolodgie,Renu Virmani,Filippo Crea +9 more
TL;DR: In this paper, systemic levels of serum myeloperoxidase were significantly higher in patients with an eroded plaque than in those with a ruptured plaque, and they also detected intraluminal thrombus in 89% of ruptured plaques and 100% of eroded plaques.
