Potential Link between Cu Surface and Selective CO2 Electroreduction: Perspective on Future Electrocatalyst Designs

TL;DR: The potential link between the Cu surface and CO2 RR performance is highlighted, especially in terms of the chemical states, but other significant factors such as defective sites and roughened morphology of catalysts are equally considered during the discussion of current studies of CO2RR with Cu-based electrocatalysts to fully understand the origin of the significant enhancement toward C2 formation.
Journal ArticleDOI

PVP assisted morphology-controlled synthesis of hierarchical mesoporous ZnCo2O4 nanoparticles for high-performance pseudocapacitor

TL;DR: In this article, polyvinyl pyrrolidone (PVP) was used as surface stabilizer and growth modifier during ZnCo2O4 nanoparticles (NPs) synthesis.
Journal ArticleDOI

High entropy alloy electrocatalysts: a critical assessment of fabrication and performance

TL;DR: In this article, the progress of development of HEA NPs is critically reviewed to determine the extent of potential of HEAs-based electrocatalysts, which may arise from the synergy of the mixed elements in a single-phase solid solution.
Journal ArticleDOI

Hybrid layered double hydroxides as multifunctional nanomaterials for overall water splitting and supercapacitor applications

TL;DR: In this paper, a review of hybrid double hydroxides (LDH) nanomaterials for overall water splitting and electrochemical supercapacitors is presented, and the effect of the physicochemical properties of hybrid LDHs on the energy barrier in the electrocatalytic reactions is discussed.
Journal ArticleDOI

Synthesis of Co3O4 macrocubes catalyst using novel chitosan/urea template for hydrogen generation from sodium borohydride

TL;DR: In this article, the shape of the Co3O4 catalyst with porous macrocubes structure was determined by chitosan template in the solution and urea played a major support to cobalt (II) nitrate hexahydrate during crystal growth of the catalyst.
