Journal ArticleDOI
Expert consensus document on the treatment of descending thoracic aortic disease using endovascular stent-grafts.
Lars G. Svensson,Nicholas T. Kouchoukos,D. Craig Miller,Joseph E. Bavaria,Joseph S. Coselli,Michael A. Curi,Holger Eggebrecht,John A. Elefteriades,Raimund Erbel,Thomas G. Gleason,Bruce W. Lytle,R. Scott Mitchell,Christoph A. Nienaber,Eric E. Roselli,Hazim J. Safi,Richard J. Shemin,Gregorio A. Sicard,Thoralf M. Sundt,Wilson Y. Szeto,Grayson H. Wheatley +19 more
TL;DR: The natural history of aortic disease, indications for repair, outcomes after conventional open surgery, currently available devices, and insights from outcomes of randomized studies using stent-grafts for abdominal aorti aneurysm surgery are reviewed; a suggestion for treatment is offered.
Journal ArticleDOI
Five-year results of endovascular treatment with the Gore TAG device compared with open repair of thoracic aortic aneurysms
TL;DR: In anatomically suitable patients, TAG treatment of thoracic aneurysms is superior to surgical repair at 5 years and although sac enlargement is concerning, early modified device results indicate this issue may be resolved.
Journal ArticleDOI
Midterm Outcome in 158 Consecutive Gore TAG Thoracic Endoprostheses: Single Center Experience
Grayson H. Wheatley,Ahmet Tayfun Gurbuz,Julio A. Rodriguez‐Lopez,Venkatesh G. Ramaiah,Dawn Olsen,James Williams,Edward B. Diethrich +6 more
TL;DR: Endoluminal grafting of multiple types of descending thoracic aorta pathologies with the Gore TAG Thoracic endoprosthesis is feasible and safe in higher surgical risk patients.
Journal ArticleDOI
Retrograde type A dissection after endovascular stenting of the descending thoracic aorta. Is the risk real
Jacques Kpodonu,Ourania Preventza,Venkatesh G. Ramaiah,Hani Shennib,Grayson H. Wheatley,Julio A. Rodriquez-Lopez,James Williams,Edward B. Diethrich +7 more
TL;DR: Female gender, use of stent-grafts for dissection and possible aggressive balloon angioplasty may play a role in the cause of retrograde type A dissection, which is a potentially lethal complication unique to thoracic endografting.
Journal ArticleDOI
Aortic remodeling after endografting of thoracoabdominal aortic dissection.
Julio A. Rodriguez,Dawn Olsen,Leonardo Aguiar Lucas,Grayson H. Wheatley,Venkatesh G. Ramaiah,Edward B. Diethrich +5 more
TL;DR: Endografting for thoracic type B dissection was successful and promoted positive aortic remodeling changes and changes in the TLi and FLi were statistically significant in the proximal and middle aorta.
