Tidal influence on seawater intrusion in unconfined coastal aquifers

TL;DR: In this paper, the influence of tides on the behavior of the saltwater wedge in unconfined coastal aquifers was investigated and the results showed that an upper saline plume formed in the intertidal zone due to tide-induced seawater circulation.
Journal ArticleDOI

Effects of crab burrows on pore water flows in salt marshes

TL;DR: In this paper, a three-dimensional model simulated tidally driven pore water flows subject to the influence of crab burrows in a salt marsh system, based on the Richards' equation, considered variably saturated flow in the marsh with a two-layer soil configuration.
Journal ArticleDOI

Transport of nonsorbing solutes in a streambed with periodic bedforms

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors combined flume experiments and numerical simulations to examine solute transport processes in a streambed with periodic bedforms, and the experimental and numerical results showed that advection played a dominant role at the early stage of solute transfer, which took place in the hyporheic zone.
Journal ArticleDOI

Prevalence and distribution analysis of antibiotic resistance genes in a large-scale aquaculture environment

TL;DR: The taxonomic diversity of the samples in ponds was significantly higher than that in ditch samples, suggesting that pond farming systems could act as a local reservoir to spread ARGs into aquatic environments of rural communities.
Journal ArticleDOI

A field study on groundwater dynamics in a salt marsh – Chongming Dongtan wetland

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors examined the hydrological characteristics of a salt marsh based on a field investigation conducted at a cross-creek section in the Chongming Dongtan wetland.
