Journal ArticleDOI
Proteomic and biochemical analyses of human B cell-derived exosomes. Potential implications for their function and multivesicular body formation.
Richard Wubbolts,Rachel S. Leckie,Peter T. M. Veenhuizen,Guenter Schwarzmann,Wiebke Möbius,Joerg Hoernschemeyer,J W Slot,Hans J. Geuze,Willem Stoorvogel +8 more
TL;DR: Data suggest that recruitment of membrane proteins from the limiting membranes into the internal vesicles of multivesicular bodies may involve their incorporation into tetraspanin-containing detergent-resistant membrane domains.
Journal ArticleDOI
Metabolism and intracellular transport of glycosphingolipids.
Journal ArticleDOI
Incorporation of ganglioside analogues into fibroblast cell membranes. A spin-label study.
TL;DR: The uptake of ganglioside analogues by a permanent mouse fibroblast cell line has been studied by radio-tracer techniques and ESR spectroscopy with 3H- and nitroxide-labeled compounds, indicating a common anchoring region in the hydrophobic interior of the membrane.
Journal ArticleDOI
Synthesis of lysogangliosides.
TL;DR: By simple re-N-acylation of lysogangliosides with any labeled fatty acid, labeled ganglioides are now obtainable that are identical with their parent ganglioside except for their labeled fatty acids residue.
Journal ArticleDOI
Role of endosomal membrane lipids and NPC2 in cholesterol transfer and membrane fusion.
Misbaudeen Abdul-Hammed,Bernadette Breiden,Matthew A. Adebayo,Jonathan O. Babalola,Guenter Schwarzmann,Konrad Sandhoff +5 more
TL;DR: The effects of the lipids on cholesterol transfer mediated by NPC2 were similar to their effect on membrane fusion induced by NPCs2 and saposin-C.
