Nosocomial Transmission of Human Granulocytic Anaplasmosis in China

TL;DR: Investigation of the origin and transmission of apparent nosocomial cases of febrile illness in the Anhui Province in China found that human granulocytic anaplasmosis (HGA) is an emerging tick-borne disease in China and likely Nosocomial transmission of HGA from direct contact with blood or respiratory secretions is likely.
Journal ArticleDOI

Emergence of Genotype I of Japanese Encephalitis Virus as the Dominant Genotype in Asia

TL;DR: An evolutionary analysis based on 98 full-length genome sequences of JEV indicates that the genotypes diverged in the order IV, III, II, and I and that the genetic diversity of genotype III has decreased rapidly while that of genotypes I has increased gradually, consistent with its emergence as the dominant genotype.
Journal ArticleDOI

Genotype V Japanese Encephalitis Virus Is Emerging

TL;DR: Japanese encephalitis viruses (JEV) are divided into five genotypes, based on the nucleotide sequence of the envelope (E) gene, andylogenetic analysis using both complete genome and structural gene nucleotide sequences demonstrates that XZ0934 belongs to genotypes V, suggesting that genotype V JEV is emerging in JEV endemic areas.
Journal ArticleDOI

Japanese encephalitis and Japanese encephalitis virus in mainland China.

TL;DR: This review provides information about the burden of JE in mainland China and the corresponding epidemiology from 1949 to 2010, including the morbidity and mortality ofJE; the age, gender, and vocational distribution of Je cases; its regional and seasonal distribution; and JE immunization.
