Journal ArticleDOI

Cognitive dysfunction in patients with cerebral microbleeds on T2*-weighted gradient-echo MRI

TL;DR: Novel evidence is provided that microbleeds are associated with cognitive dysfunction, independent of the extent of MRI-visible white matter changes of presumed ischaemic origin, or the presence ofIschaemic stroke.
Journal ArticleDOI

Imaging biomarkers of vulnerable carotid plaques for stroke risk prediction and their potential clinical implications.

TL;DR: Intraplaque haemorrhage is accepted by neurologists and radiologists as one of the features of vulnerable plaques, but other characteristics-eg, plaque volume, neovascularisation, and inflammation-are promising as biomarkers of carotid plaque vulnerability.
Journal ArticleDOI

Low-grade gliomas: do changes in rCBV measurements at longitudinal perfusion-weighted MR imaging predict malignant transformation?

TL;DR: In transforming low-grade glioma, susceptibility-weighted MR perfusion imaging can demonstrate significant increases in rCBV up to 12 months before contrast enhancement is apparent on T1- Weighted MR images.
Journal ArticleDOI

MRI-visible perivascular space location is associated with Alzheimer's disease independently of amyloid burden.

TL;DR: Using MRI-visible perivascular space location and severity together with other imaging markers may improve the diagnostic value of neuroimaging in memory clinic populations, in particular in differentiating between clinically diagnosed Alzheimer's and subcortical vascular cognitive impairment.
