A structural study of metallic glasses containing boron (FeB, CoB, and NiB)

TL;DR: In this article, the atomic radial distribution function is evaluated from which interatomic distance and coordination number are obtained, and it is shown that the atomic distribution of metallic glasses with boron content less than 20 at%, differs from that observed previously for a number of metal glasses such as Fe83P17.
Journal ArticleDOI

Structure of glassy ZrCu and NbNi alloys

TL;DR: In this article, a detailed structural analysis of ZrCu and NbNi alloy glasses by X-ray diffraction is carried out, and the composition effect on the structure and characteristic structural features of these alloy glasses are described with a comparison to those of metal-metalloid glasses.
Journal ArticleDOI

Positron lifetime study on the structure of a metallic glass and interphase boundaries

TL;DR: The positron lifetime of a glassy Pd0.775Cu0.06Si0.165 alloy decreases only slightly on crystallization as mentioned in this paper, which suggests that the glassy alloy contains negligible fractional concentration (< 10−5) of vacancy-like defects, and the crystallite model may be excluded as a possible structure of metallic glasses.
Journal ArticleDOI

On the theory of switching phenomena in semiconducting glasses

TL;DR: In this article, the switching phenomena in chalcogenide glasses have been analyzed as a thermoelectric effect and computer calculations relating current, voltage, temperature, and time have been made.
