Systematic behavior of ejectile spin polarization in the projectile fragmentation reaction
Hiroshi G. Okuno,Koichiro Asahi,Hirohiko Sato,H. Ueno,J. Kura,M. Adachi,Takashi Nakamura,T. Kubo,Naohito Inabe,A. Yoshida,T. Ichihara,Y. Kobayashi,Y. Ohkubo,M Iwamoto,F Ambe,Tadashi Shimoda,H. Miyatake,N. Takahashi,Jin Nakamura,D. Beaumel,David J. Morrissey,W. ‐D. Schmidt‐Ott,Masayasu Ishihara +22 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors measured the spin polarization P as a function of the fragment momentum and showed that P does not vanish at the momentum corresponding to the beam velocity, indicating an important effect which has not been considered in the previously proposed model.
Journal ArticleDOI
Measurement of the magnetic moments of 14B and 15B using projectile fragmentation spin polarization
Hiroshi G. Okuno,Koichiro Asahi,H. Ueno,H. Izumi,Hirohiko Sato,M. Adachi,Terutaro Nakamura,T. Kubo,Naohito Inabe,Atsumasa Yoshida,N. Fukunishi,Tadashi Shimoda,H. Miyatake,N. Takahashi,W. D. Schmidt-Ott,M. Ishihara +15 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the magnetic moments of 14B and 15B were determined by the β-NMR measurement, to be μ( 14 B ) = (1185±0005) μn and μ( 15 B ), where μn is the nuclear magneton, and the comparison of the results with shell model calculations suggests that the singleparticle energy of the neutron s 1 2 orbit shifts downwards considerably compared with the d 5 2 orbit in 14B, and also indicates the importance of Jπ = 2+ configurations of neutrons in the sd shell.
Journal ArticleDOI
Magnetic moments of 17N and 17B
H. Ueno,Koichiro Asahi,H. Izumi,Kyosuke Nagata,Hiroshi Ogawa,Akihiro Yoshimi,Hirohiko Sato,M. Adachi,Y. Hori,K. Mochinaga,Hideki Okuno,N. Aoi,M. Ishihara,A. Yoshida,G. Liu,Takashi Kubo,N. Fukunishi,Tadashi Shimoda,H. Miyatake,Misao Sasaki,T. Shirakura,Naruto Takahashi,S. Mitsuoka,W. D. Schmidt-Ott +23 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the magnetic moments of a single-particle valence nucleus were measured by using spin-polarized radioactive nuclear beams which were obtained from the projectile fragmentation reaction.
Journal ArticleDOI
Electric quadrupole moments of neutron-rich nuclei 14B and 15B
H. Izumi,Koichiro Asahi,H. Ueno,Hiroshi G. Okuno,Hirohiko Sato,Kyosuke Nagata,Y. Hori,M. Adachi,N. Aoi,Atsumasa Yoshida,G. Liu,N. Fukunishi,M. Ishihara +12 more
TL;DR: In this paper, spin-polarized fragments 14B and 15B produced in intermediate-energy projectile fragmentation reactions were implanted in a Mg single crystal, and the electric quadrupole moments were determined by β-NMR spectroscopy.
Journal ArticleDOI
Polarization in projectile fragmentation and g-factor measurements for neutron-rich nuclei
Hideki Okuno,Hideki Okuno,Koichiro Asahi,H. Ueno,Hirohiko Sato,M. Adachi,T. Kubo,Nakamura Takahiro,Nakamura Takahiro,Naohito Inabe,A. Yoshida,Y. Ohkubo,T. Ichihara,M. Ishihara,M. Ishihara,T. Shimoda,T. Shimoda,H. Miyatake,H. Miyatake,N. Takahashi,N. Takahashi +20 more
TL;DR: In this article, a method to produce beams of polarized unstable nuclei was developed, which fully exploits the advantageous features of the projectile fragmentation reaction, and applied tog-factor measurements of several neutron-rich nuclei.
