Journal ArticleDOI

Current state, sources, and potential risk of heavy metals in sediments of Three Gorges Reservoir, China.

TL;DR: Results showed that the concentrations of HMs in the sediments increased after the TGR operation, but were lower than those in other Chinese rivers of developed areas, and indicate the current priority of Cd contamination in the T GR, and will conduce to ecological protection in theTGR region.
Journal ArticleDOI

Diversity patterns of the rhizosphere and bulk soil microbial communities along an altitudinal gradient in an alpine ecosystem of the eastern Tibetan Plateau

TL;DR: In this article, the diversity patterns and drivers of soil microbial communities in altitudinal gradients have been studied in alpine ecosystems, and high-throughput Illumina sequencing was used to examine the community variations of bacteria, archaea and fungi between the rhizosphere and bulk soil along an altitudinal gradient in an Abies fabri (Mast) community on Mount Gongga of the eastern Tibetan Plateau.
Journal ArticleDOI

Impacts of atmospheric particulate matter pollution on environmental biogeochemistry of trace metals in soil-plant system: A review

TL;DR: This systematic review summarizes the interactions of PMs-TMs in soil-plant systems including the deposition, transfer, accumulation, toxicity, and mechanisms among them and current knowledge gaps and prospective are proposed for future research agendas.
Journal ArticleDOI

Spatial variation of heavy metal contamination in the riparian sediments after two-year flow regulation in the Three Gorges Reservoir, China.

TL;DR: The results indicated that the Cd contamination in the riparian sediments of the TGR was still a vital environmental issue, and the decreased sediment inputs from the upstream major tributaries, the periodic and anti-seasonal flow regulation, local geomorphological characteristics and anthropogenic activities determined the contamination distribution of heavy metals in the Riparian sediment.
Journal ArticleDOI

Extracellular enzyme stoichiometry reveals the carbon and phosphorus limitations of microbial metabolisms in the rhizosphere and bulk soils in alpine ecosystems

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors investigated the characteristics of microbial nutrient limitation in alpine ecosystems, and revealed the drivers in the alpine ecosystem in which microbial decomposers play a key role in cycling soil carbon.
