Comprehensive Learning Particle Swarm Optimization Algorithm With Local Search for Multimodal Functions
TL;DR: An adaptive LS starting strategy is proposed by utilizing the proposed quasi-entropy index to address its key issue, i.e., when to start LS.
Journal ArticleDOI
Recent development of membrane for vanadium redox flow battery applications: A review
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors reviewed the research on membranes in vanadium redox flow battery (VRFB) system, including the properties, development of traditional commercial membranes as well as recently developed membranes.
Journal ArticleDOI
GASFLOW-MPI: A new 3-D parallel all-speed CFD code for turbulent dispersion and combustion simulations. Part I: Models, verification and validation
Jianjun Xiao,W. Breitung,Mike Kuznetsov,Han Zhang,J.R. Travis,Reinhard Redlinger,Thomas Jordan +6 more
TL;DR: The GASFLOW-MPI as discussed by the authors code provides reliability, robustness and excellent parallel scalability in predicting all-speed flow fields associated with hydrogen safety, including distribution, turbulent combustion and detonation.
Journal ArticleDOI
GASFLOW-MPI: A new 3-D parallel all-speed CFD code for turbulent dispersion and combustion simulations Part II: First analysis of the hydrogen explosion in Fukushima Daiichi Unit 1
Jianjun Xiao,W. Breitung,Mike Kuznetsov,Han Zhang,J.R. Travis,Reinhard Redlinger,Thomas Jordan +6 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors describe a first analysis of the hydrogen explosion in Unit 1, assuming a leak at the drywell head flange, shows the evolution of a stratified, inhomogeneous H 2 -O 2 -N 2 -steam mixture in the refueling bay, simulates the combustion of the reactive gas mixture, and predicts pressure loads to walls and internal structures of the reactor building.
Journal ArticleDOI
Numerical analysis of hydrogen release, dispersion and combustion in a tunnel with fuel cell vehicles using all-speed CFD code GASFLOW-MPI
Yabing Li,Jianjun Xiao,Han Zhang,Han Zhang,W. Breitung,Jack Travis,Mike Kuznetsov,Thomas Jordan +7 more
TL;DR: In this paper, a postulated accident scenario induced by the operation of thermal pressure relief device in a tunnel is analyzed for hydrogen fuel cell vehicles with GASFLOW-MPI in this study.
