Journal ArticleDOI

Impaired autoregulation of cerebral blood flow in the distressed newborn infant

TL;DR: Cerebral blood flow was measured, using the 133Xe clearance technique, a few hours after birth in 19 infants with varying degrees of respiratory distress syndrome, showing a linear relationship that was identical in infants with asphyxia at birth and infants with RDS only.
Journal ArticleDOI

Parietal cortex and representation of the mental Self

TL;DR: This network is strikingly similar to the network of the resting conscious state, suggesting that self-monitoring is a core function in resting consciousness.
Journal ArticleDOI

Striatal dysfunction in attention deficit and hyperkinetic disorder.

TL;DR: Low striatal activity, partially reversible with methylphenidate, appears to be a cardinal feature in ADHD.
Journal ArticleDOI

Focal Cerebral Hypoperfusion in Children With Dysphasia and/or Attention Deficit Disorder

TL;DR: The location of hypoperfused structures in cognitive disorders of childhood is consistent with a role for an early hypoxic-ischemic event in their origin.
Journal ArticleDOI

Reflective self-awareness and conscious states: PET evidence for a common midline parietofrontal core.

TL;DR: Connectivity analysis of synchrony showed these regions to be functionally connected during reflective self-awareness and differential activity in precuneus and angular gyri during reflection on own personality traits and in anterior cingulate gyri while reflecting on own physical traits.
