Journal ArticleDOI
Effective exchange interaction in a quasi-two-dimensional self-assembled nanoparticle array
Ulf Wiedwald,M. Cerchez,Michael Farle,Kai Fauth,Gisela Schütz,K. Zürn,Hans-Gerd Boyen,Paul J. Ziemann +7 more
Journal ArticleDOI
From self-organized masks to nanotips: A new concept for the preparation of densely packed arrays of diamond field emitters
F. Weigl,Sebastian Fricker,Hans-Gerd Boyen,Christof P. Dietrich,B. Koslowski,Alfred Plettl,Oliver Pursche,Paul J. Ziemann,Paul Walther,Christoph Hartmann,Marcel Ott,Martin Möller +11 more
TL;DR: In this paper, gold nanoparticle patterns are prepared from HAuCl4 loaded poly(styrene)-block-poly(2-vinylpyridine) (PS-b-P2VP) micelles on top of diamond and silicon.
Journal ArticleDOI
The Self-organization of Metal Loaded Micelles - An Approach to Prepare Ordered Arrays of Metallic Nanoislands
G. Kästle,Hans-Gerd Boyen,F. Weigl,P. Ziemann,S. Riethmüller,C.H. Hartmann,Joachim P. Spatz,Martin Möller,M. G. Garnier,Peter Oelhafen +9 more
TL;DR: In this article, the preparation and characterization of hexagonally ordered pure Au nanoparticles is described, where the Au-salt loaded inverse micelles are first exposed to an oxygen plasma followed by an annealing process.
Journal ArticleDOI
Comparison of amorphous and liquid alloys by photoelectron spectroscopy
G. Indlekofer,A. Pflugi,Peter Oelhafen,H.-J. Güntherodt,Peter Häussler,Hans-Gerd Boyen,F. Baumann +6 more
TL;DR: In this paper, photoemission data of liquid Au-sn alloys are presented and compared with corresponding measurements on amorphous vapour-quenched films, and a fairly close general similarity between the valence bands of the two phases is observed.
Journal ArticleDOI
Controlled synthesis of ultrathin ZnO nanowires using micellar gold nanoparticles as catalyst templates
Hong Yin,Qiushi Wang,Sebastian Geburt,Steffen Milz,Bart Ruttens,Giedrius Degutis,Jan D'Haen,Lianchen Shan,Sathya Punniyakoti,Marc D'olieslaeger,Patrick Wagner,Carsten Ronning,Hans-Gerd Boyen +12 more
TL;DR: A simple and effective approach to control the diameter of ultrathin ZnO nanowires with high aspect ratios and high densities over large areas is demonstrated by taking advantage of the inherent size control of the micellar method during deposition of the catalyst nanoparticles.
