Strategies to Reduce Oxygen Inhibition in Photoinduced Polymerization

TL;DR: Type II triplet quenching of aryl thiols was found to be dependent on the sensitizer, viscosity, and hydrogen-donating capability of the monomer and on the presence of oxygen.
Journal ArticleDOI

A new application area for fullerenes: voltage stabilizers for power cable insulation.

TL;DR: Fullerenes are shown to be efficient voltage-stabilizers for polyethylene, i.e., additives that increase the dielectric strength of the insulation material.
Journal ArticleDOI

The formulator's guide to anti-oxygen inhibition additives

TL;DR: In this article, the applicability of some of these additives (hydrogen donors, functional monomers, reducing agents, CO2 producing agents, and singlet oxygen scavengers) was evaluated using a urethane acrylate base formulation.
Journal ArticleDOI

Tailored side‐chain architecture of benzil voltage stabilizers for enhanced dielectric strength of cross‐linked polyethylene

TL;DR: In this article, the synthesis and physico-chemical properties of seven benzil-type voltage stabilizers are reported, which can be melt-processed with low-density polyethylene (LDPE) and are not affected by the LDPE cross-linking reaction induced by dicumyl peroxide.
Journal ArticleDOI

Thiol‐ene photopolymerization for efficient curing of vinyl esters

TL;DR: In this paper, the thiol-ene concept is shown to improve the photoreactivity of vinyl esters to a large extent to a level between those of acrylates and methacrylsates.
