Journal ArticleDOI

Exclusion Netting Delays and Reduces Drosophila suzukii (Diptera: Drosophilidae) Infestation in Raspberries.

TL;DR: Exclusion netting applied to commercial size high tunnels resulted in a significant reduction in overall D. suzukii infestation in raspberries, as well as a 3-wk delay in the average first detectable fruit infestation, indicating that this approach can be an important component of growers' response to invasion by D.suzukII in temperate climates.
Journal ArticleDOI

Rapid harvest schedules and fruit removal as non-chemical approaches for managing spotted wing Drosophila

TL;DR: This study will provide guidance to growers on culturally based IPM tactics to decrease reliance on chemical management and reduce the effects of this invasive pest on raspberry production.
Journal ArticleDOI

Seasonal phenology and activity of spotted lanternfly (Lycorma delicatula) in eastern US vineyards

TL;DR: Observations in Pennsylvania vineyards revealed that adults infested vineyards in late summer and populations peaked in early to mid-September, suggesting high input from the surrounding landscape and potential need for area-wide management of this pest.
Journal ArticleDOI

Evaluation of insecticides for control of the spotted lanternfly, Lycorma delicatula, (Hemiptera: Fulgoridae), a new pest of fruit in the Northeastern U.S.

TL;DR: None of the OMRI-listed compounds evaluated in this study provided effective control, indicating anticipated difficulty among organic producers in reducing damage from this new and important pest.
