Current options and recommendations for the treatment of thoracic aortic pathologies involving the aortic arch: An expert consensus document of the European Association for Cardio-Thoracic surgery (EACTS) and the European Society for Vascular Surgery (ESVS)
Martin Czerny,Jürg Schmidli,Sabine Adler,Jos C. van den Berg,Luca Bertoglio,Thierry Carrel,Roberto Chiesa,Rachel E. Clough,Balthasar Eberle,Christian D. Etz,Martin Grabenwöger,Stéphan Haulon,Heinz Jakob,Fabian A. Kari,Carlos A. Mestres,Davide Pacini,Timothy Resch,Bartosz Rylski,Florian S. Schoenhoff,Malakh Shrestha,Hendrik von Tengg-Kobligk,Konstantinos Tsagakis,Thomas R. Wyss,Eacts +23 more
TL;DR: Current options and recommendations for the treatment of thoracic aortic pathologies involving the aortIC arch: an expert consensus document of the European Association for Cardio-Thoracic surgery and the European Society for Vascular Surgery.
Journal ArticleDOI
Computational fluid dynamics modelling in cardiovascular medicine
Paul Morris,Andrew J. Narracott,Hendrik von Tengg-Kobligk,Daniel Alejandro Silva Soto,Sarah Hsiao,Angela Lungu,Paul C. Evans,Neil W. Bressloff,Patricia V. Lawford,D. Rodney Hose,Julian Gunn +10 more
TL;DR: The adoption of CFD modelling signals a new era in cardiovascular medicine and a number of academic and commercial groups are addressing the associated methodological, regulatory, education- and service-related challenges.
Journal ArticleDOI
Dominant-negative inhibition of the Axl receptor tyrosine kinase suppresses brain tumor cell growth and invasion and prolongs survival
Peter Vajkoczy,Pjotr Knyazev,Andrea Kunkel,Hans Holger Capelle,Sandra Behrndt,Hendrik von Tengg-Kobligk,Fabian Kiessling,Uta Eichelsbacher,Marco Essig,Tracy Ann Read,Ralf Erber,Axel Ullrich,Axel Ullrich +12 more
TL;DR: The findings implicate Axl in gliomagenesis and validate it as a promising target for the development of approaches toward a therapy of these highly aggressive but, as yet, therapy-refractory, tumors.
Journal ArticleDOI
Complications after endovascular repair of acute symptomatic and chronic expanding Stanford type B aortic dissections.
Dittmar Böckler,Hardy Schumacher,Marika Ganten,Hendrik von Tengg-Kobligk,Matthias Schwarzbach,Christian Fink,Hans-Ulrich Kauczor,Hubert J. Bardenheuer,Jens-Rainer Allenberg +8 more
TL;DR: Despite the minimally invasive approach, the complication and mortality rates for endovascular therapy of aortic dissection are still high and results for patients with chronic dissections are significantly better than results in those with acute dissections.
Journal ArticleDOI
Short and midterm results after left subclavian artery coverage during endovascular repair of the thoracic aorta
Drosos Kotelis,Philipp Geisbüsch,Ulf Hinz,Alexander Hyhlik-Dürr,Hendrik von Tengg-Kobligk,Jens R. Allenberg,Dittmar Böckler +6 more
TL;DR: By using a selective approach to the LSA revascularization, coverage of the L SA can be used to extend the proximal seal zone for TEVAR without increasing the risk of spinal cord ischemia or stroke.
