Increased Expression of Cyclooxygenase 2 Occurs Frequently in Human Lung Cancers, Specifically in Adenocarcinomas
Toyoaki Hida,Yasushi Yatabe,Hiroyuki Achiwa,Hideki Muramatsu,Ken Ichi Kozaki,Shigeo Nakamura,Makoto Ogawa,Tetsuya Mitsudomi,Takahiko Sugiura,Takashi Takahashi +9 more
TL;DR: It is suggested that an increase in COX-2 expression may be associated with the development of adenocarcinomas and possibly with acquisition of an invasive and metastatic phenotype.
Journal Article
Cyclooxygenase-2 Inhibitor Induces Apoptosis and Enhances Cytotoxicity of Various Anticancer Agents in Non-Small Cell Lung Cancer Cell Lines
Toyoaki Hida,Ken Ichi Kozaki,Hideki Muramatsu,Akira Masuda,Shigeki Shimizu,Tetsuya Mitsudomi,Takahiko Sugiura,Makoto Ogawa,Takashi Takahashi +8 more
TL;DR: This study shows that a cyclooxygenase (COX)-2 inhibitor, nimesulide, can inhibit proliferation of non-small cell lung cancer cell lines in vitro in a dose-dependent manner, in part by inducing apoptosis even at clinically achievable low concentrations.
Journal ArticleDOI
The landscape of somatic mutations in Down syndrome-related myeloid disorders
Kenichi Yoshida,Tsutomu Toki,Yusuke Okuno,Rika Kanezaki,Yuichi Shiraishi,Aiko Sato-Otsubo,Aiko Sato-Otsubo,Masashi Sanada,Masashi Sanada,Myoung-ja Park,Kiminori Terui,Hiromichi Suzuki,Hiromichi Suzuki,Ayana Kon,Ayana Kon,Yasunobu Nagata,Yasunobu Nagata,Yusuke Sato,Yusuke Sato,Ru Nan Wang,Ru Nan Wang,Norio Shiba,Kenichi Chiba,Hiroko Tanaka,Asahito Hama,Hideki Muramatsu,Daisuke Hasegawa,Kazuhiro Nakamura,Hirokazu Kanegane,Keiko Tsukamoto,Souichi Adachi,Kiyoshi Kawakami,Koji Kato,Ryosei Nishimura,Shai Izraeli,Yasuhide Hayashi,Satoru Miyano,Seiji Kojima,Etsuro Ito,Seishi Ogawa,Seishi Ogawa +40 more
TL;DR: Subsequent AMKL evolves from a pre-existing TAM clone through the acquisition of additional mutations, with major mutational targets including multiple cohesin components and EZH2, KANSL1 and other epigenetic regulators, as well as common signaling pathways, such as the JAK family kinases, MPL, SH2B3 and multiple RAS pathway genes.
Journal ArticleDOI
Somatic SETBP1 mutations in myeloid malignancies
Hideki Makishima,Kenichi Yoshida,Nhu Nguyen,Bartlomiej P Przychodzen,Masashi Sanada,Masashi Sanada,Yusuke Okuno,Yusuke Okuno,Kwok Peng Ng,Kristbjorn O. Gudmundsson,Bandana A. Vishwakarma,Andres Jerez,Inés Gómez-Seguí,Mariko Takahashi,Yuichi Shiraishi,Yasunobu Nagata,Kathryn M Guinta,Hiraku Mori,Mikkael A. Sekeres,Kenichi Chiba,Hiroko Tanaka,Hideki Muramatsu,Hirotoshi Sakaguchi,Ronald Paquette,Michael A. McDevitt,Seiji Kojima,Yogen Saunthararajah,Satoru Miyano,Lee-Yung Shih,Yang Du,Seishi Ogawa,Seishi Ogawa,Jaroslaw P. Maciejewski +32 more
TL;DR: Somatic mutations of SETBP1 seem to cause gain of function, are associated with myeloid leukemic transformation and convey poor prognosis in myelodysplastic syndromes (MDS) and CMML.
Journal ArticleDOI
Mutations of E3 Ubiquitin Ligase Cbl Family Members Constitute a Novel Common Pathogenic Lesion in Myeloid Malignancies
Hideki Makishima,Heather Cazzolli,Hadrian Szpurka,Andrew Dunbar,Ramon V. Tiu,Jungwon Huh,Hideki Muramatsu,Christine O’Keefe,Eric D. Hsi,Ronald Paquette,Seiji Kojima,Alan F. List,Mikkael A. Sekeres,Michael A. McDevitt,Jaroslaw P. Maciejewski +14 more
TL;DR: Mutations in the Cbl family RING finger domain or linker sequence constitute important pathogenic lesions associated with not only preleukemic CMML, JMML, and other MPN, but also progression to AML, suggesting that impairment of degradation of activated tyrosine kinases constitutes an important cancer mechanism.
