Journal ArticleDOI

Ultrastructural study of concanavalin-A binding to the surface of preimplantation mouse embryos

TL;DR: The amount and distribution of Con-A receptors is discussed, along with their redistribution and mobility in relation to the agglutinability of preimplantation mouse embryos, which is observed to be the most suitable for discerning differences between stages of embryonic development.
Journal ArticleDOI

Superinfection of Simian Virus 40-Transformed Permissive Cells with Simian Virus 40

TL;DR: Evidence that the resistance of simian virus (SV40)-transformed permissive cells to superinfection with SV40 is due to lack of virus uptake is presented.
Journal ArticleDOI

Intracellular receptor binding and nuclear transport of nerve growth factor in intact cells and a cell-free system.

TL;DR: The data suggest that, in intact cells, NGF transported into the cell via the surface receptors is also bound by the NGF receptor being synthesized in the cytoplasm, which inhibited transcription of ribosomal RNA genes and inhibited cell proliferation.
Journal ArticleDOI

Time sequence and morphological evaluations of cells fused by polyethylene glycol 6000(1).

TL;DR: It is proposed that fusion does not occur if apposing cells have many microvilli at the area of apparent contact, and it is observed that intramembrane particles were observed to have a tendency to aggregate after PEG treatment, but a direct correlation of this activity with the fusion process could not be made.
