Journal ArticleDOI

Shrink-induced superhydrophobic and antibacterial surfaces in consumer plastics.

TL;DR: A rapid fabrication method for creating structurally modified superhydrophobic surfaces in consumer hard plastic materials with resulting antibacterial effects is presented and antibacterial properties are demonstrated in polystyrene (PS), polycarbonate (PC), and polyethylene (PE).
Journal ArticleDOI

Unconventional Low-Cost Fabrication and Patterning Techniques for Point of Care Diagnostics

TL;DR: The technologies reviewed here leverage extremely low-cost substrates and easily adoptable ways to pattern both structural and biological materials at high resolution in unprecedented ways to offer the promise of more rapid prototyping with less investment in capital equipment as well as greater flexibility in design.
Journal ArticleDOI

A matrix micropatterning platform for cell localization and stem cell fate determination.

TL;DR: The results demonstrate that MDW is a versatile approach to print ECMs of diverse geometries and compositions onto surfaces, and it is amenable to the generation of multicomponent ECM microarrays for stem cell fate determination.
Journal ArticleDOI

Nanotextured Shrink Wrap Superhydrophobic Surfaces by Argon Plasma Etching

TL;DR: The ability to reliably pattern hydrophilic regions onto the SH substrates, allowing precise capture and detection of proteins in urine and self-driven microfluidics via patterning contrasting superhydrophilic microchannels on the SH Ar substrates to induce flow for biosensing is demonstrated.
