T Cell-Specific siRNA Delivery Suppresses HIV-1 Infection in Humanized Mice
Priti Kumar,Hong Seok Ban,Sang-Soo Kim,Haoquan Wu,Todd Pearson,Dale L. Greiner,Amale Laouar,Jiahong Yao,Viraga Haridas,Katsuyoshi Habiro,Yong-Guang Yang,Ji Hoon Jeong,Kuen Yong Lee,Yong-Hee Kim,Sung Wan Kim,Matthias Peipp,Georg H. Fey,N. Manjunath,Leonard D. Shultz,Sang-Kyung Lee,Premlata Shankar +20 more
TL;DR: SiRNA therapy for HIV infection appears to be feasible in a preclinical animal model and could deliver antiviral siRNAs to naive T cells in Hu-HSC mice and effectively suppress viremia in infected mice.
Journal ArticleDOI
Attachment of cell-binding ligands to arginine-rich cell-penetrating peptides enables cytosolic translocation of complexed siRNA
Skye Zeller,Chang Seon Choi,Pradeep D. Uchil,Hong Seok Ban,Hong Seok Ban,Alyssa Siefert,Tarek M. Fahmy,Walther Mothes,Sang-Kyung Lee,Priti Kumar +9 more
TL;DR: The studies demonstrate that attaching 9R to ligands that bind cell surface receptors quantitatively increases siRNA uptake and importantly, allows functional delivery of complexed siRNA.
