Experimental study on the development of wake vortices behind screen cylinders

TL;DR: In this article, the development of the large-scale vortex structures in the wake of two screen cylinders with porosities β = 48% and 61% in the intermediate region at a Reynolds number of 7000 using two X-type hot-wire probes.
Journal ArticleDOI

Flow-induced rotation modes and wake characteristics of a circular cylinder attached with a splitter plate at low Reynolds numbers

TL;DR: In this article , the effects of Reynolds number and plate length on the rotary oscillation, wake flow, and hydrodynamic characteristics were examined, and it was found that the bifurcation phenomenon, i.e., the equilibrium position of the rotation deflects to a position which is not parallel to the free stream, is found in most cases.

Air sealing threaded connecting structure for double-metal compound oil casing pipes

TL;DR: In this paper, an air-tight threaded connecting structure for double-metal compound oil casing pipes is characterized in that a corrosion-resistant alloy nipple is arranged at the end part of each of the two connected double metal compound pipes.

Measurement while drilling (MWD) ultrasonic data transmitting method and device

TL;DR: In this paper, a measurement while drilling (MWD) ultrasonic data transmitting method and device is presented, where a data transmitting pup joint is arranged at the lower end of a square drill rod and is used for respectively collecting four kinds of well drilling data, namely, bit pressure, torsion, tension force and temperature, of an underground drill column and loading the data to ultrasonic signals of 30+/-2.5 kHz to be transmitted intermittently, and a transmission carrier for the ultrasonic signal is the drill column.
Journal ArticleDOI

Evolution of Gas-Liquid Two-Phase Flow in an M-Shaped Jumper and the Resultant Flow-Induced Vibration Response

TL;DR: In this article , the multiphase flow-induced vibration (MFIV) of an M-shaped jumper is numerically investigated using a two-way fluid-structure interaction (FSI) approach.
