Journal ArticleDOI
Construction of a High-Density Linkage Map and QTL Fine Mapping for Growth- and Sex-Related Traits in Channel Catfish (Ictalurus punctatus)
Zhang Shiyong,Xinhui Zhang,Xiaohui Chen,Tengfei Xu,Minghua Wang,Qin Qin,Liqiang Zhong,Jiang Hucheng,Xiaohua Zhu,Hongyan Liu,Junjie Shao,Zhu Zhifei,Qiong Shi,Qiong Shi,Wenji Bian,Xinxin You,Xinxin You +16 more
TL;DR: The high-density genetic linkage map is constructed and the sex-linked marker in channel catfish is developed, which are important genetic resources for future marker-assisted selection (MAS) of this economically important teleost.
Journal ArticleDOI
Use of comparative transcriptome analysis to identify candidate genes related to albinism in channel catfish (Ictalurus punctatus)
Zhang Shiyong,Xiang Li,Jianlin Pan,Minghua Wang,Liqiang Zhong,Jiang Wang,Qin Qin,Hongyan Liu,Junjie Shao,Xiaohui Chen,Wenji Bian +10 more
TL;DR: A possible mechanism for the mutation of the catfish Hps4 gene, which affects regulation of expression of genes in the tyrosine metabolism pathway, is identified and provided a theoretical basis for further understanding of the pathogenesis of albinism in catfish.
Journal ArticleDOI
Functional identification and characterization of IpMSTNa, a novel orthologous myostatin (MSTN) gene in channel catfish Ictalurus punctatus.
Zhang Shiyong,Yun Li,Junjie Shao,Hongyan Liu,Jiang Wang,Minghua Wang,Chen Xiaohui,Wenji Bian +7 more
TL;DR: A novel orthologous myostatin gene, IpMSTNa, of channel catfish was identified based on homology cloning and genome locating and shown to belong to MSTN1 orthologues, and its deduced protein presented similar architectures to other known vertebrates.
