Toxicity Effect of Silver Nanoparticles on Mice Liver Primary Cell Culture and HepG2 Cell Line

TL;DR: The results illustrated that nano-silver had 44 times stronger inhibitory effect on the growth of cancerous cells (HepG2 cell line) compared to the normal cells (primary liver cells of mice) which might further justify AgNPs as a cytotoxic agents and a potential anticancer candidate which needs further studies in this regard.
Journal ArticleDOI

Removal of aflatoxin B1 by roasting with lemon juice and/or citric acid in contaminated pistachio nuts

TL;DR: In this article, the efficacy of roasting process by incorporation of lemon juice and/or citric acid on the reduction of AFB1 in contaminated pistachio nuts (AFB1 at two levels of 268 and 383 nng/g) was investigated.
Journal ArticleDOI

Halal authenticity of gelatin using species-specific PCR

TL;DR: A species-specific polymerase chain reaction (PCR) assay using conserved regions of mitochondrial DNA (cytochrome b gene) was performed to evaluate the halal authenticity of gelatin to verify whether gelatin and gelatin-containing food products are derived from halal ingredients.
Journal ArticleDOI
