Deep learning on image denoising: An overview.

We report a stability enhancement algorithm for adaptive disturbance rejection with applications in hard disk drives. The adaptive disturbance rejection algorithm can compensate for disturbances in real time; however, to deploy the method in the field, difficulties in maintaining the stability of the servo loop in response to variable disturbances must be resolved. To address these issues, we apply an adjustable dead zone in the adaptation scheme. This method provides adaptive control while maintaining stability of the servo loop regardless of the applied disturbance, allowing successful rejection of disturbances in real time. To solve it, a dead-zone algorithm is suggested, which leads to a performance degradation in disturbance rejection. Accordingly, we are suggesting a new design for a Q-filter in the adaptive disturbance observer. This advanced Q-filter makes the structure of the entire system similar to a peak-notch filter. In this paper, we will verify the effect of the suggested method through simulation.

One of the trends on information storage device is focused on the development of micro-optical devices with optical flying head (OFH). Many different types of sliders for OFH and optical component systems have been introduced in the literature. However, the important issues on the mechanical system, which consists of suspension, swing arm and voice coil motor (VCM) part has not been discussed up to date. In this research, a swing arm type actuator with suspension for micro optical disk drive is designed and developed, basically focused on the mechanical issues, which should be solved for real application.

Higher data storage capacities and higher data transfer rates will be required in next-generation information storage devices. However, there is a limit to the rotational speeds of conventional disk structures. Hence, conventional disks will not be able to achieve high data transfer rates of over 250 Mbps that is required for next-generation storage devices. To increase the data transfer rate of a disk, flexible optical disks have been studied with the goal of stable rotation at a high speed, using a stabilizer to reduce disk oscillations. If a flexible optical disk is implemented in a near-field recording (NFR) system, simultaneous high data transfer rates and high-density recording should be possible. In an NFR system, it is very important to maintain the gap between the solid immersion lens (SIL) and the disk at distances below tens of nanometers. In this study, to simultaneously achieve high data storage capacity and high data transfer rate, we propose an improved gap servo control system for an SIL-based NFR system with a flexible optical disk. To enable robust control at a high rotational speed, a repetitive controller was designed and applied to the NFR servo algorithm. In both simulation and experiment, the newly designed gap servo controller stably maintained the gap distance in the SIL-based NFR system using a flexible optical disk.

Today many media of information storage device are formed as disks. Hence, next generation removable data storage media are shaped as disk types too. The holographic data storage system also uses a disk type photopolymer media. And then, holographic data storage system is most advanced optical memory system. In 1948, Dennis Gabor made the insightful observation that the phase formation in a diffracted wavefront could be recorded by interference with a coherent background. It was not until the early 1960s with the invention of the laser that the technology became practical for storing and retrieving images, and the concepts of holographic data storage were established by van Heerden. In his seminal paper in 1963 on the theory of optical information storage in solids, van Heerden postulated that the recording of interference patterns in a three-dimensional medium could be used as a means of storing and retrieving information (Holographic data storage, Springer, New York, 2000). Tracking servo and tilt servo control are very important research in holographic data storage system. In this paper, we propose intelligent servo control by fuzzy rules in holographic data storage system. Hence, we have found pattern of tilt servo control in holographic data storage system through fuzzy system. Fuzzy rules were generated by subtractive clustering algorithm for controlling tilt servo. Therefore, we control tilt servo using fuzzy rules in holographic data storage system. Consequently, practical pattern of tilt servo control was found by intelligence algorithm in holographic data storage system (Holographic data storage, Springer, New York, 2000).

power consumption. There are many efforts applied to various field in recent ten years. But the present modeling is not
enough to appear its characteristics because of its hysteresis. In this paper, we propose modeling of DE EAP with
Preisach Model that is used in order to model the hysteretic response arising in PZT and SMA. The modeling of DE
EAP with Presach model is verified by experiment with various DE EAP actuators.
