Journal ArticleDOI

Early physiological responses of Arabidopsis thaliana cells to fusaric acid: toxic and signalling effects

TL;DR: FA at nontoxic concentrations (i.e. below 10(-6) m) was able to induce the synthesis of phytoalexin, a classic delayed plant response to pathogen, and can act as an elicitor at nanomolar concentrations.
Journal ArticleDOI

Treatment of chickpea with Rhizobium isolates enhances the expression of phenylpropanoid defense-related genes in response to infection by Fusarium oxysporum f. sp. ciceris.

TL;DR: The results suggest that the increased accumulation of phenolic compounds, observed in chickpea seedlings inoculated with Foc, can be attributed to increased expression of genes in the phenylpropanoid pathway and that such gene expression is enhanced by pre-treatment with Rhizobium isolates.

Chitosan, antifungal product against Fusarium oxysporum f. sp. albedinis and elicitor of defence reactions in date palm roots [Phoenix dactylifera L.; Morocco]

TL;DR: Chitosan could be used to protect date palm against this vascular disease and led to an accumulation of non-constitutive hydroxycinnamic acid derivatives, known to be of great importance in date palm resistance to Bayoud.
Journal ArticleDOI

Elicitation of soluble phenolics in date palm (Phoenix dactylifera) callus by Fusarium oxysporum f. sp. albedinis culture medium

TL;DR: De novo accumulation of Phenolic compounds occurred in date palm callus in response to elicitation with filtrates from Foa cultures, which indicates a possible role of phenolic compounds in the resistance to the Bayoud disease.
