Improving the integrity of natural biopolymer films used in food packaging by crosslinking approach: A review.

TL;DR: This review provides a brief description of film-forming biopolymers followed by a detailed introduction to definition and classification of various crosslinkers, the effect of crosslinking on emerging attributes of biopolymer films including physical, mechanical and thermal properties.
Journal ArticleDOI

Mg-substituted hydroxyapatite nanopowders: Synthesis, thermal stability and sintering behaviour

TL;DR: In this paper, a systematic investigation on Mg-substituted hydroxyapatite (Ca 10− x Mg x (PO 4 ) 6 (OH) 2 ) nanopowders produced by precipitation of Ca(NO 3 ) 2 ·4H 2 O and Mg(NO3 ) 2.
Journal ArticleDOI

Sol–gel derived 45S5 bioglass: synthesis, microstructural evolution and thermal behaviour

TL;DR: In this work, the 45S5 bioactive glass was synthesized through an aqueous sol–gel method and the sintering behaviour was studied by dilatometry and the microstructural evolution was followed step-by-step, interrupting the thermal cycle at different temperatures.
Journal ArticleDOI

Si-substituted hydroxyapatite nanopowders: synthesis, thermal stability and sinterability

TL;DR: In this article, the influence of the synthesis process on composition, thermal behaviour and sinterability of the resulting nanopowders is studied, and a systematic investigation on Si-substituted hydroxyapatite (Si 1.40 wt%) nanopowsders produced following two different conventional wet methodologies is reported.
