TL;DR: The studied composite demonstrate a pronounced antibacterial activity due to the incorporation of ZnO particles into sodium alginate and moistened powder of hydroxyapatite, and both forms of HA-ZnO (suspension) and HA-Alg-ZNO (beads) are biocompatible.
