Ina Reiche,Myriam Eveno,Katharina Müller,Thomas Calligaro,Laurent Pichon,Eric Laval,Erin Mysak,Bruno Mottin +7 more
TL;DR: In this article, the authors used two-dimensional scanning macro-X-ray fluorescence imaging (MA-XRF) providing chemical images corresponding to the superimposition of all detectable paint layers.
Journal ArticleDOI
Archaeological Bone from Macro- to Nanoscale: Heat-Induced Modifications at Low Temperatures
Céline Chadefaux,Ina Reiche +1 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors focused on the characterization of structural modifications in bone material induced by heating at low temperatures (90 - 250°C), which is of outmost importance when archaeological bone material is concerned.

TL;DR: In this paper, the formation of subsequent layers of calcium carbonate (CaCO3) in karst caves is a well known phenomenon particularly observed on the prehistoric paintings at the Large cave (Grande Grotte) of Arcy-sur-Cure, in France.
