Journal ArticleDOI
Nocturnal hypoventilation in neuromuscular disease: prevalence according to different definitions issued from the literature
Adam Ogna,Maria-Antonia Quera Salva,Hélène Prigent,Ghassane Mroue,Isabelle Vaugier,Djillali Annane,Frédéric Lofaso,David Orlikowski +7 more
TL;DR: It is believed that capno-oximetry should be included in the diagnostic tools used to detect hypoventilation but this requires an update of consensus guidelines to agree upon the best definition.
Journal ArticleDOI
Comparison of three cough-augmentation techniques in neuromuscular patients: mechanical insufflation combined with manually assisted cough, insufflation-exsufflation alone and insufflation-exsufflation combined with manually assisted cough.
Matthieu Lacombe,Lorena Del Amo Castrillo,Aurélien Boré,David Chapeau,Eric Horvat,Isabelle Vaugier,Michelle Lejaille,David Orlikowski,Hélène Prigent,Frédéric Lofaso +9 more
TL;DR: The results indicate that adding the MI-E device to MAC is unhelpful in patients whose PCF with an insufflation technique and MAC exceeds 5 liters/s, because the expiratory flow produced by the patient's effort and MAC transitorily exceeds the vacuum capacity of the MI -E device, which therefore becomes a transient load against the PCF.
Journal ArticleDOI
Effect of Smoked Cannabis on Vigilance and Accident Risk Using Simulated Driving in Occasional and Chronic Users and the Pharmacokinetic-Pharmacodynamic Relationship.
S. Hartley,Nicolas Simon,Amine Larabi,Isabelle Vaugier,Frédéric Barbot,Maria-Antonia Quera-Salva,Jean-Claude Alvarez +6 more
TL;DR: Inhalation from cannabis joints leads to a rapid increase in blood THC with a delayed decrease in vigilance and driving performance, more pronounced and lasting longer in OC than in CC.
Journal ArticleDOI
Sleep disorders, sleepiness, and near-miss accidents among long-distance highway drivers in the summertime
Maria Antonia Quera Salva,Frédéric Barbot,S. Hartley,R. Sauvagnac,Isabelle Vaugier,Frédéric Lofaso,Pierre Philip +6 more
TL;DR: Investigating sleepiness, sleep hygiene, sleep disorders, and driving risk among highway drivers found sleep-related breathing disorders or nonrestorative sleep help to explain NMSA more adequately than acute sleep loss.
Journal ArticleDOI
Factors influencing compliance with non-invasive ventilation at long-term in patients with myotonic dystrophy type 1: A prospective cohort.
Ghilas Boussaïd,Ghilas Boussaïd,Frédéric Lofaso,Dante Brasil Santos,Isabelle Vaugier,Sandra Pottier,Hélène Prigent,David Orlikowski,Stéphane Bahrami +8 more
TL;DR: Compliance with non-invasive ventilation is poor in patients with no subjective symptoms of respiratory failure, and it may be improved with appropriate education and follow-up.
