Journal ArticleDOI
A guinea fowl genome assembly provides new evidence on evolution following domestication and selection in galliformes.
Alain Vignal,Simon Boitard,Noémie Thébault,Guiguigbaza-Kossigan Dayo,V. Yapi-Gnaoré,Issaka Youssao Abdou Karim,Cécile Berthouly-Salazar,Nóra Pálinkás‐Bodzsár,Daniel Guemene,Françoise Thibaud-Nissen,Wesley C. Warren,Wesley C. Warren,Michèle Tixier-Boichard,Xavier Rognon +13 more
TL;DR: It is shown that the domestic populations share a higher genetic similarity between each other than they do to wild populations living in the same geographical area, and several genomic regions showing selection signatures putatively related to domestication or importation to Europe were detected.
Journal ArticleDOI
Evidence of multiple mechanisms of alphacypermethrin and deltamethrin resistance in ticks Rhipicephalus microplus in Benin, West Africa
Roland Eric Yessinou,Yao Akpo,Aboubakar Sidick,Camus Adoligbe,Issaka Youssao Abdou Karim,Martin Akogbeto,Souaïbou Farougou +6 more
TL;DR: A correlation between phenotype resistance and presence of the domain II mutation at the voltage gated sodium channel gene was observed suggesting that this could be associated with resistance in R. microplus tick populations from Benin.
Journal Article
Resistance of tick Rhipicephalus microplus to acaricides and control strategies
Roland Eric Yessinou,Yao Akpo,Camus Adoligbe,Justin Adinci,Marc Napoléon Assogba,Benoît Koutinhouin,Issaka Youssao Abdou Karim,Souaïbou Farougou +7 more
TL;DR: The aim of this review is to make an inventory of acaricide resistance and ways to fight against the tick Rhipicephalus microplus, the most widespread and used acaricides in the fight against ticks.
Journal ArticleDOI
Caractéristiques biologiques et zootechniques des tilapias africains Oreochromis niloticus (Linnaeus, 1758) et Sarotherodon melanotheron Rüppell, 1852 : une revue
Toundji Olivier Amoussou,Aboubacar Toguyeni,Ibrahim Imorou Toko,Antoine Chikou,Issaka Youssao Abdou Karim +4 more
TL;DR: The biological and zootechnical characteristics of African tilapias Oreochromis niloticus and Sarotherodon melanotheron and the current knowledge on the biology, production and factors influencing the growth and survival of these two tilapia species are presented.
Journal ArticleDOI
Participatory innovation analysis along livestock value chains: Case of swine value chain in Benin
Benoît Govoeyi,S. Ahounou,Aristide Mahoutin Agbokounou,Chakirath Folakè Arikè Salifou,Ignace Ogoudanan Dotché,Pascal S. Kiki,Issaka Youssao Abdou Karim,Nicolas Antoine-Moussiaux +7 more
TL;DR: In this article, a participatory approach is proposed to join this assessment to a stimulation of innovation among stakeholders, which is divided in four stages: identification of actors and direct links along the VC, characterisation of innovation practices, identification of bottlenecks and opportunities using innovation system framework, and measurement of agreement among VC actors about constraints and value-added sharing, using proportional piling tool.
