Fatty acid profile, and chemical composition of Longissimus muscle of bovine steers and bulls finished in pasture system

TL;DR: The objective of this work was to evaluate the conjugated linoleic acid content (CLA), the fatty acid profile, and the chemical composition of the Longissimus muscle of steers and bulls finished in pasture systems.
Journal ArticleDOI

Prediction of chicken quality attributes by near infrared spectroscopy

TL;DR: NIR spectroscopy can become useful tool for quality assessment of chicken meat and is suggested to be a potential technique to predict quality attributes of chicken breast.
Journal ArticleDOI

Forage evaluation, chemical composition, and in vitro digestibility of continuously grazed star grass

TL;DR: In this article, the chemical composition and dry matter digestibility of star grass (Cynodon plectostachyus Pilger) in summer and winter in the south of Brazil were evaluated.
Journal ArticleDOI

Response surface methodology for extraction optimization of pigeon pea protein.

TL;DR: In this article, a compound central design was used with variables (X1) NaCl concentration (0.000, 0.025, 0,075 and 0.100M); (X2) pH (2.5, 4.0, 5.0; 5.5; 7.0 and 8.5); and (X3) liquid:solid ratio (5:1, 10:1; 15: 1; 20: 1, and 25:1) v/w).
Journal ArticleDOI

Body composition and net energy and protein requirements of Morada Nova lambs

TL;DR: In this article, a comparative slaughter trial was conducted with 48 Morada Nova lambs to assess the net energy and protein requirements for growth and maintenance, and the results showed that the energy requirements for EBWG increased from 2.15 to 2.78 and the amount of protein deposited during the gain increased from 177.84 to 192.93.
