Joao Santos,Mathieu Bailly-Grandvaux,L. Giuffrida,P. Forestier-Colleoni,Shinsuke Fujioka,Zhe Zhang,Ph. Korneev,Ph. Korneev,R. Bouillaud,S. Dorard,Dimitri Batani,M. Chevrot,J. E. Cross,R. Crowston,J. Ribolzi,Markus Roth,Gabriel Schaumann,F. Serres,Vladimir Tikhonchuk,Ph Vacar,Nigel Woolsey +34 more
TL;DR: In this article, the reproducible generation of quasi-static magnetic fields at the kT-level with laser pulses was investigated. But the authors focused on the early stages of the target charging, up to ns, and then are disturbed by radiation and plasma effects.
Journal ArticleDOI
Amplification of ultrashort laser pulses by brillouin backscattering in plasmas.
TL;DR: Using multidimensional kinetic simulations, this work defines here the optimum window in which a Brillouin scheme can be exploited for amplification and compression of short laser pulses over short distances to very high power.

TL;DR: In this paper, the reproducible generation of quasi-static magnetic fields at the kT-level was demonstrated using laser pulses with GHz-bandwidth inductor pickup coils (B-dot probes), and the results from Faraday rotation of polarized optical laser light and deflectometry of energetic proton beams were consistent with the B-dot probe measurements at the early stages of the target charging.
Journal ArticleDOI
Anomalous self-generated electrostatic fields in nanosecond laser-plasma interaction
L. Lancia,Mickael Grech,Stefan Weber,J.-R. Marquès,L. Romagnani,Motoaki Nakatsutsumi,Patrizio Antici,A. Bellue,Nicolas Bourgeois,Jean-Luc Feugeas,Thomas Grismayer,T. Lin,Ph. Nicolaï,Boniface Nkonga,Patrick Audebert,R. Kodama,V. T. Tikhonchuk,Julien Fuchs +17 more
TL;DR: In this paper, a three-dimensional wave propagation code equipped with nonlinear and nonlocal hydrodynamics is used to model the measured E-fields associated with the interaction of a well-controlled, high-power, nanosecond laser pulse with an underdense plasma.

TL;DR: In this paper, a 3D wave propagation code equipped with nonlinear and nonlocal hydrodynamics is used to model the measured E-fields that are driven by the laser ponderomotive force in the region where the laser undergoes filamentation.
