Investigation on thermal performance of water-cooled Li-ion pouch cell and pack at high discharge rate with U-turn type microchannel cold plate

TL;DR: In this article, the authors investigated and simulated the thermal performance of water-cooled lithium-ion battery cell and pack used in electric vehicles at high discharge rate with a U-turn type microchannel cold plate and recommended an optimal cooling strategy by considering the effects of various parameters including different discharge rates, inlet coolant mass flow rates, and inlet temperature.
Journal ArticleDOI

A novel dielectric fluid immersion cooling technology for Li-ion battery thermal management

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors investigated direct cooling performance characteristics of Li-ion battery and battery pack for electric vehicles using dielectric fluid immersion cooling (DFIC) technology, and the experimental results showed that Liion pouch cell immersed in flowing dielectoric fluid assisted with tab cooling showed better cooling performance with 46.8% reduction in the maximum temperature at the positive tab compared to natural convection at 3C discharge rate.
Journal ArticleDOI

Heat transfer characteristics of the heat exchangers for refrigeration, air conditioning and heat pump systems under frosting, defrosting and dry/wet conditions—A review

TL;DR: In this paper, the heat transfer characteristics and thermal performance enhancements of heat exchangers for thermal systems under different operating conditions and effects on thermal performance have been analyzed and evaluated by theoretical, numerical and experimental methods.
Journal ArticleDOI

Review of the Thermo-Physical Properties and Performance Characteristics of a Refrigeration System Using Refrigerant-Based Nanofluids

TL;DR: The literature reviews associated with the performance characteristics of nanorefrigerants in refrigeration systems for the last 10 years have been compiled and presented in this paper, and recent studies related to thermo-physical properties of Nanorefrigants and nanolubricants have also been summarized and reviewed in this paper.
