Journal ArticleDOI
Reduced amounts and abnormal forms of phospholipase C zeta (PLCzeta) in spermatozoa from infertile men.
Elke Heytens,John Parrington,Kevin Coward,Kevin Coward,C Young,S Lambrecht,Sook-Young Yoon,Rafael A. Fissore,R. Hamer,Charlotte M. Deane,Margarida Ruas,P Grasa,R. Soleimani,Claude Cuvelier,Jan Gerris,Marc Dhont,Dieter Deforce,Luc Leybaert,P. De Sutter +18 more
TL;DR: The findings illustrate the importance of PLCzeta during fertilization and suggest that mutant forms of P LCzeta may underlie certain types of human male infertility.
Journal ArticleDOI
Efficiency of assisted oocyte activation as a solution for failed intracytoplasmic sperm injection
TL;DR: Application of AOA results in normal fertilization and pregnancy rates in patients whose spermatozoa show deficient activation, and when MOAT reveals no activation deficiency in spermutozoa, AOA still allows for high fertilized and acceptable pregnancy rates.
Journal ArticleDOI
Nuclear and cytoplasmic maturation of in vitro matured human oocytes after temporary nuclear arrest by phosphodiesterase 3-inhibitor
TL;DR: Temporary nuclear arrest of human GV oocytes with PDE3-I proved to be beneficial for obtaining normal spindle and chromosome configurations after IVM, and resulted also in synchronization within the population of Gv oocytes.
Journal ArticleDOI
Assisted oocyte activation is not beneficial for all patients with a suspected oocyte-related activation deficiency
F. Vanden Meerschaut,Dimitra Nikiforaki,S. De Gheselle,V. Dullaerts,E. Van den Abbeel,Jan Gerris,Björn Heindryckx,P. De Sutter +7 more
TL;DR: ICSI-AOA is very efficient in patients with a suspected oocyte-related activation deficiency and previous TFF after conventional ICSI, and should be tested on half of the sibling oocytes to help distinguish between a molecular oocytes-relatedactivation deficiency and a previous technical or other biological failure.
Journal ArticleDOI
Embryo development after successful somatic cell nuclear transfer to in vitro matured human germinal vesicle oocytes
TL;DR: This is the first report describing development of cloned human embryos using IVM oocytes and non-autologous transfer using a conventional method of SCNT.
