Journal ArticleDOI
Opioid effects and opioid withdrawal during a 24 h dosing interval in patients maintained on buprenorphine
TL;DR: Buprenorphine maintenance should be associated with a high level of safety and a low level of disruption caused by changing opioid effects over the dosing interval, but some patients may require high doses or other strategies to completely suppress withdrawal.
Journal ArticleDOI
Investigating the appearance of new psychoactive substances in South Australia using wastewater and forensic data
Richard Bade,Peter Stockham,Ben Painter,Alberto Celma,Lubertus Bijlsma,Félix Hernández,Jason M. White,Cobus Gerber +7 more
TL;DR: Investigation of the changing landscape of NPS use on a community scale by combining wastewater analysis and forensic toxicology in Adelaide, South Australia found temporal trends were found in wastewater with distinct tendencies for synthetic cathinones visible over the period studied.
Journal ArticleDOI
Behavioral interactions between nicotine and caffeine
TL;DR: The within-interval pattern of responding was affected in a similar, dose-related manner by both nicotine and caffeine alone and added to produce large changes in the pattern when high doses of the two drugs were co- administered.
Journal ArticleDOI
Relationship between LAAM-methadone preference and treatment outcomes.
TL;DR: Preference for LAAM is associated with treatment outcomes as good or better than those with methadone, and those who chose LAAM had lower levels of heroin use during LAAM maintenance, significantly better outcomes on two sub-scales of the SF-36, and reported that they felt more normal and that they were 'held' better when on LAAM.
Journal ArticleDOI
Determining changes in new psychoactive substance use in Australia by wastewater analysis
Richard Bade,Jason M. White,Lynn Nguyen,Benjamin J. Tscharke,Jochen F. Mueller,Jake W. O'Brien,Kevin V. Thomas,Cobus Gerber +7 more
TL;DR: The application of wastewater analysis to detect outbreaks of NPS use and temporal differences among sites is shown, showing the first time that eutylone has been detected in wastewater.
