The Long-Lasting Effects of Cannabis Use on Movement and Brain Regions that Control Movement

TL;DR: The literature on the long-lasting effects of cannabis use on movement, and movement-related brain regions in humans is summarized.
Book ChapterDOI

Movement Dysfunction as a Neuropathology of Illicit Stimulant Abuse

TL;DR: For example, this paper found evidence from epidemiological studies that the risk of Parkinson's disease is increased approximately twofold in former users of the drug methylphenidate (methamphetamine, cocaine, and ecstasy).
Journal ArticleDOI

Partitioning of phytocannabinoids between faeces and water - Implications for wastewater-based epidemiology.

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors used liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry (LCS) to extract common chemical markers of cannabis consumption, such as 11-nor-9-carboxy-Δ-tetrahydrocannabinol (THC-COOH), 11-hydroxy- Δ-to-thc-OH, Δ-thC and cannabidiol (CBD), from faecal and urine samples.
Proceedings ArticleDOI

Abstract PO-126: Identification of distinct mRNA & microRNA signatures and mRNA-miRNA pairs associated with inter-ethnic differences in prostate cancer aggressiveness

TL;DR: Ghosh et al. as discussed by the authors performed RNAseq analysis on prostate cancer cell lines representing different tumor types (aggressive androgen receptor (AR) nonresponsive AR- vs. non-aggressive AR+) and derived from patients with European American/EA (PC3, PC3M, DU145, DUTXR, 22RV1, LNCaP, VCaP, LaPC4, C4, RC77, RC165, RC43) ancestry to identify differentially expressed genes (DEG) associated with tumor aggressiveness and ethnicity.
Journal ArticleDOI

Changes in Methadone Concentration, Opioid Effects, and Opioid Withdrawal During Induction Onto Maintenance Treatment

TL;DR: The changes in opioid withdrawal, respiratory rate, and pupil diameter that occur during the first 8 days of methadone treatment are described and the changes in plasma concentration of R-methadone are described, which increased, withdrawal severity decreased, and both pupil diameter and respiratory rate decreased.
