Journal ArticleDOI
Influence of active-site proximity in zeolites on Brønsted acid-catalyzed reactions at the microscopic and mesoscopic levels
Tengying Li,Sangmi Chung,S. Nastase,Adrian Galilea,Yan Wang,Ildar N. Mukhambetov,Moussa Zaarour,Juan Carlos Navarro de Miguel,Jurjen Cazemier,Abhay Dokania,Liliana Panarone,Jorge Gascon,N. Cavallo,Javier Ruiz-Martínez +13 more
TL;DR: In this paper , the authors compared the catalytic performance of two H-ZSM-5 zeolites with comparable properties, except for Al distribution, i.e., intraparticle distribution and Al proximity at the nanoscale, and demonstrated that Al enrichment at positions closer to the external surface results in more paired acid sites that exhibit enhanced activity than the isolated ones.
Journal ArticleDOI
Maximizing Active Fe Species in ZSM-5 Zeolite Using Organic-Template-Free Synthesis for Efficient Selective Methane Oxidation
Qingpeng Cheng,Guanna Li,Xueli Yao,Lirong Zheng,Junhu H. Wang,Abdul-Hamid M. Emwas,Pedro Castaño,Javier Ruiz-Martínez,Yu Han +8 more
TL;DR: A facile organic template-free synthesis strategy that enables the incorporation of more Fe into the zeolite framework with a higher dispersion degree compared to conventional synthesis methods was reported in this paper.
Journal ArticleDOI
Shockwave Impact on the Stability of Anatase Titania Nanoparticles
Ana Luiza Slama de Freitas,Janardhanraj Subburaj,Juan Carlos Navarro,Hassnain Abbas Khan,T. Kashif,Khaiyom Hakimov,Javier Ruiz-Martínez,Aamir Farooq +7 more
TL;DR: In this article , the stability of anatase titania nanoparticles was investigated under exposure to repeated loading of shockwaves produced in a diaphragm-driven high-pressure shock tube.
Journal ArticleDOI
Origin of active sites on silica–magnesia catalysts and control of reactive environment in the one-step ethanol-to-butadiene process
Sangmi Chung,Tengying Li,Tuiana Shoinkhorova,Sarah Komaty,Adrian Ramirez,Ildar N. Mukhambetov,Edy Abou-Hamad,Genrikh Shterk,Selvedin Telalović,Alla Dikhtiarenko,Xinqi Tang,Bert M. Weckhuysen,Jorge Gascon,Javier Ruiz-Martínez +13 more
TL;DR: In this paper , the role and impact of the wet-kneading approach on the performance of the one-step ethanol-to-butadiene Lebedev process were investigated.
Journal ArticleDOI
Multi-technique operando methods and instruments for simultaneous assessment of thermal catalysis structure, performance, dynamics, and kinetics
Vijay Kumar Velisoju,Shekhar Kulkarni,Mengmeng Cui,Abdallah I.M. Rabee,Pasi P. Paalanen,Jabor Rabeah,Matteo Maestri,Angelika Brückner,Javier Ruiz-Martínez,Pedro Castaño +9 more
TL;DR: In this paper , a review of the progress achieved mainly in thermal catalysis to combine different techniques and obtain the interdependency between catalyst structure, function, and reaction media is presented.
