The Ocean Reanalyses Intercomparison Project (ORA-IP)

TL;DR: In this article, a multi-reanalysis ensemble is used to estimate the signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) of the ocean state and to estimate uncertainty levels.
Journal ArticleDOI

A new atmospheric dataset for forcing ice–ocean models: Evaluation of reforecasts using the Canadian global deterministic prediction system

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors introduce a relatively high-resolution alternative forcing dataset for ice-ocean models derived from the Canadian Meteorological Centre's (CMC) global deterministic prediction system (GDPS).
Journal ArticleDOI

A high-resolution ocean and sea-ice modelling system for the Arctic and North Atlantic oceans

TL;DR: In this paper, a high-resolution (1/12°) ice-ocean regional model is developed covering the North Atlantic and the Arctic oceans, and a series of hindcasts for the period 2003-2009 are carried out, forced at the surface by the Canadian GDPS reforecasts (Smith et al., 2014).
