C. Andrejak,F.X. Lescure,E. Pukenyte,Y. Douadi,Y. Yazdanpanah,G. Laurans,Jean-Luc Schmit,V Jounieaux +7 more
TL;DR: In contrast to recent guidelines, this study showed three different types of the disease (cavitary, nodular or diffuse infiltrate forms) with a different prognosis, and all patients with M xenopi infection should be treated with a rifamycin-containing regimen.
Journal ArticleDOI

Journal ArticleDOI
Pneumocystis jiroveci Internal Transcribed Spacer Types in Patients Colonized by the Fungus and in Patients with Pneumocystosis from the Same French Geographic Region
TL;DR: The results show that similar genotypes can be responsible for PCP as well as pulmonary colonization, and a high diversity of genotypes in colonized patients and in patients with PCP are found, suggesting that human populations infected by P. jiroveci, whatever the clinical manifestation, may play a role as a common reservoir for the fungus.
Journal ArticleDOI
Non-tuberculous mycobacteria pulmonary infection: Management and follow-up of 31 infected patients
Claire Andrejak,François-Xavier Lescure,Youcef Douadi,Geneviève Laurans,Amar Smail,Pierre Duhaut,Vincent Jounieaux,Jean-Luc Schmit +7 more
TL;DR: Management of NTM pulmonary infection also depends on comorbidities, and should be defined according to the severity of underlying diseases, as the high mortality rate may be related to concomitant diseases.
Journal ArticleDOI
Community-acquired bacteraemic pneumococcal pneumonia in adults: effect of diminished penicillin susceptibility on clinical outcome
P. Bonnard,François-Xavier Lescure,Youcef Douadi,Jean-Luc Schmit,Vincent Jounieaux,G. Laurans,F. Eb,Jean Pierre Ducroix +7 more
TL;DR: It appears that infection by a resistant pneumococcal strain is not in itself a gravity factor in this setting, but that their acquisition is associated with pejorative clinical features.
