Pitolisant versus placebo or modafinil in patients with narcolepsy : a double-blind, randomised trial
Yves Dauvilliers,Claudio L. Bassetti,Gert Jan Lammers,Isabelle Arnulf,Geert Mayer,Andrea Rodenbeck,Philippe Lehert,Philippe Lehert,Claire-Li Ding,Jeanne-Marie Lecomte,J C Schwartz +10 more
TL;DR: Pitolisant at doses up to 40 mg was efficacious on EDS compared with placebo and well tolerated compared with modafinil, and could offer a new treatment option for patients with narcolepsy.
Journal ArticleDOI
BF2.649 [1-{3-[3-(4-Chlorophenyl)propoxy]propyl}piperidine, hydrochloride], a nonimidazole inverse agonist/antagonist at the human histamine H3 receptor: Preclinical pharmacology.
Xavier Ligneau,Perrin David,Laurent Landais,J.-C. Camelin,Thierry Calmels,Isabelle Berrebi-Bertrand,Jeanne-Marie Lecomte,Régis Parmentier,Christelle Anaclet,Jian-Sheng Lin,Valerie Bertaina-Anglade,C. Drieu la Rochelle,F. d'Aniello,A. Rouleau,Florence Gbahou,J.M. Arrang,Charon Robin Ganellin,Holger Stark,Walter Schunack,J C Schwartz +19 more
TL;DR: Preclinical data suggest that BF2.649 is a valuable drug candidate to be developed in wakefulness or memory deficits and other cognitive disorders.
Journal ArticleDOI
Safety and efficacy of pitolisant on cataplexy in patients with narcolepsy: a randomised, double-blind, placebo-controlled trial.
Zoltan Szakacs,Yves Dauvilliers,Vladimir Mikhaylov,Irina Poverennova,Sergei Krylov,Slavko Jankovic,Karel Sonka,Philippe Lehert,Philippe Lehert,Isabelle Lecomte,Jeanne-Marie Lecomte,Jean-Charles Schwartz,Mikhail Poluektov,Eduard Yakupov,Alexander Kalinkin,Murat Aksu,Hikmet Yilmaz,Gulcin Benbir,Dorota Wolynczyk-Gmaj,Wojchiech Jernajczyk,Ivan Staykov,Arben N Tavarari +21 more
TL;DR: Pitolisant was well tolerated and efficacious in reducing cataplexy and might constitute a useful first-line therapy for catapLexy in patients with narcolepsy, for whom there are currently few therapeutic options.
Journal ArticleDOI
Protection of atrial natriuretic factor against degradation: diuretic and natriuretic responses after in vivo inhibition of enkephalinase (EC 3.4.24.11) by acetorphan
Claude Gros,Anny Souque,Jean-Charles Schwartz,Jacques Duchier,Antoine Cournot,P. Baumer,Jeanne-Marie Lecomte +6 more
TL;DR: Results indicate that enkephalinase plays a critical role in ANF degradation in vivo and that its inhibition enhances the levels of circulating endogenous ANF, which, in turn, results in diuresis and natriuresis.
Journal ArticleDOI
Comparison of racecadotril and loperamide in children with acute diarrhoea
TL;DR: To compare the efficacy, tolerability, and safety of racecadotril and loperamide in children aged 2 to 10 years who were suffering from acute diarrhoea, a multicentre, parallel‐group, double‐blind, double-placebo study was carried out.
