Journal ArticleDOI
The addition of androgen deprivation therapy and pelvic lymph node treatment to prostate bed salvage radiotherapy (NRG Oncology/RTOG 0534 SPPORT): an international, multicentre, randomised phase 3 trial
Alan Pollack,Theodore Karrison,Alexander Balogh,Leonard G. Gomella,Daniel A. Low,Deborah Watkins Bruner,Jeffrey S. Wefel,Andre-Guy Martin,Jeff M. Michalski,S. Angyalfi,H. Lukka,Sergio Faria,George Rodrigues,Marie-Claude Beauchemin,R. Jeffrey Lee,Samantha A. Seaward,Aaron M. Allen,Drew C. Monitto,W. Seiferheld,Oliver Sartor,Felix Y. Feng,Howard M. Sandler +21 more
TL;DR: An international, multicentre, randomised, controlled SPPORT trial to determine whether incremental gains in patient outcomes can be achieved by adding either 4-6 months of short-term androgen deprivation therapy (ADT) to PBRT, or both short- term ADT and pelvic lymph node radiotherapy (PLNRT) toPBRT.
Journal ArticleDOI
Method to plan, administer, and verify supine craniospinal irradiation.
TL;DR: Virtual simulation and direct junction verification with mini‐verification films allow for simple and quantitative evaluation of the junction associated with the three‐field craniospinal irradiation technique.
Journal ArticleDOI
Failure definition-dependent differences in outcome following radiation for localized prostate cancer: Can one size fit all?
Deborah A. Kuban,Howard D. Thames,Larry B. Levy,Eric M. Horwitz,Patrick A. Kupelian,Alvaro Martinez,Jeff M. Michalski,Thomas M. Pisansky,Howard M. Sandler,William U. Shipley,Michael J. Zelefsky,Anthony L. Zietman +11 more
TL;DR: This analysis shows that the ASTRO definition does not overestimate outcome, particularly in the first 5 years after therapy, as compared with other definitions appropriate to irradiated patients.
Journal ArticleDOI
Prospective clinical evaluation of an electronic portal imaging device
Jeff M. Michalski,Mary V. Graham,Walter R. Bosch,John Wong,Russell L. Gerber,Abel Cheng,Alfred Tinger,Richard K. Valicenti +7 more
TL;DR: The use of an electronic portal imaging device in the clinic has been implemented without a significant increase in patient treatment time and features that were identified that prevented the technologists from recognizing more errors online include poor image quality inherent to the portal Imaging device used in this study, artifacts on the portal images related to table supports, and small field size lacking sufficient anatomical detail to detect FPEs.
