Effects of weight loss interventions for adults who are obese on mortality, cardiovascular disease, and cancer: systematic review and meta-analysis.

TL;DR: Weight reducing diets, usually low in fat and saturated fat, with or without exercise advice or programmes, for adults with obesity and follow-up ≥1 year may reduce premature all cause mortality in adults with Obesity.
Journal ArticleDOI

The clinical and cost-effectiveness of total versus partial knee replacement in patients with medial compartment osteoarthritis (TOPKAT): 5-year outcomes of a randomised controlled trial.

TL;DR: It is suggested that PKR should be considered the first choice for patients with late-stage isolated medial compartment osteoarthritis, because of slightly better outcomes, lower costs of surgery, and lower follow-up health-care costs with PKR than TKR.
Journal ArticleDOI

Comparison of stapled haemorrhoidopexy with traditional excisional surgery for haemorrhoidal disease (eTHoS): a pragmatic, multicentre, randomised controlled trial

TL;DR: Stapled haemorrhoidopexy was less painful than traditional excisional surgery in the short term and surgical complication rates were similar between groups, while EQ-5D-3L was higher for staplings in the first 6 weeks after surgery, and the traditional excisonal surgery group had significantly better quality of life scores than the stapledHAEMorrhoids group.
Journal ArticleDOI
