Partial volume correction of doubly-gated cardiac datasets using anatomical and edge-preserving priors
Anna Turco,Jürgen Duchenne,Olivier Gheysens,Johan Nuyts,Jens-Uwe Voigt,Piet Claus,Kathleen Vunckx +6 more
TL;DR: Dual gating of the cardiac datasets is one possible approach to remove the motion blur in PET images, but it dramatically reduces the statistics of the dataset and leads to extremely noisy reconstructions.
Journal Article
Acute cardiac remodeling in short term acute afterload increase - the effect of pericardial constraint
Nina Jakuš,George R. Sutherland,Maja Cikes,Peter Haemers,Jens-Uwe Voigt,Frank Rademakers,Jan D'hooge,Piet Claus +7 more
TL;DR: As acute short-lived increase in afterload may be a contributory mechanism to sudden death, an acute 30% systolic pressure increase (SBPI) in a closed chest, closed pericardium porcine model is studied, being essential to the model clinical applicability.
Journal Article
Papillary muscles contribute significantly to shortening of dilated left ventricles
Jürgen Duchenne,Anna Turco,Piet Claus,Kathleen Vunckx,Johan Nuyts,Efstathios D. Pagourelias,Filip Rega,Olivier Gheysens,Jens-Uwe Voigt +8 more
Journal ArticleDOI
[Tissue doppler for the assessment of LV function--what makes sense?].
TL;DR: This article reviews relevant tissue Doppler parameters and gives examples of the current clinical usage of this technique, which allows the quantitative and thus objective assessment of myocardial function.
