A Urinary Fragment of Mucin-1 Subunit α Is a Novel Biomarker Associated With Renal Dysfunction in the General Population
Zhenyu Zhang,Susana Ravassa,Martin Pejchinovski,Wen-Yi Yang,Petra Zürbig,Begoña López,Begoña López,Fang-Fei Wei,Lutgarde Thijs,Lotte Jacobs,Arantxa González,Arantxa González,Jens-Uwe Voigt,Peter Verhamme,Tatiana Kuznetsova,Javier Díez,Javier Díez,Harald Mischak,Jan A. Staessen,Jan A. Staessen +19 more
TL;DR: Mucin-1 subunit α, an extracellular protein that is shed from renal tubular epithelium, is a novel biomarker associated with renal dysfunction and is confirmed as the strongest urinary marker associated with decreased eGFR.
Journal ArticleDOI
Epidemiologic observations guiding clinical application of a urinary peptidomic marker of diastolic left ventricular dysfunction.
Zhenyu Zhang,Esther Nkuipou-Kenfack,Wen-Yi Yang,Fang-Fei Wei,Nicholas Cauwenberghs,Lutgarde Thijs,Qi-Fang Huang,Ying-Mei Feng,Joost P. Schanstra,Tatiana Kuznetsova,Jens-Uwe Voigt,Peter Verhamme,Harald Mischak,Jan A. Staessen,Jan A. Staessen +14 more
TL;DR: HF1, a urinary biomarker consisting of 85 peptides, can predict over a 5-year time span mildly impaired diastolic LV function as assessed by echocardiography, and may allow screening for LVDD over a5-year horizon in asymptomatic people.
Journal ArticleDOI
A pilot study to investigate the feasibility and cardiac effects of pegylated liposomal doxorubicin (PL-DOX) as adjuvant therapy in medically fit elderly breast cancer patients.
Hans Wildiers,Ruxandra Jurcut,Javier Ganame,Lieven Herbots,Patrick Neven,Julie De Backer,Hannelore Denys,Veronique Cocquyt,Frank Rademakers,Jens-Uwe Voigt,Robert Paridaens +10 more
TL;DR: Elderly women receiving six cycles of pegylated liposomal doxorubicin (PL-DOX) cyclophosphamide as adjuvant chemotherapy for breast cancer showed the feasibility of this regimen with limited serious toxicity, showing early initiation of preventive measures to prevent further irreversible cardiac damage.
Journal ArticleDOI
Impact of aerobic interval training and continuous training on left ventricular geometry and function: a SAINTEX-CAD substudy
Caroline M. Van De Heyning,Catherine De Maeyer,Nele Pattyn,Paul Beckers,Véronique Cornelissen,Kaatje Goetschalckx,Nadine Possemiers,Emeline M. Van Craenenbroeck,Jens-Uwe Voigt,Luc Vanhees,Bharati Shivalkar +10 more
TL;DR: Systolic and diastolic function are determinants of baseline exercise capacity in CAD patients without heart failure, but do not seem to mediate improvement of peak VO2 after either AIT or ACT.
Journal ArticleDOI
Right ventricular systolic dysfunction at rest is not related to decreased exercise capacity in patients with a systemic right ventricle.
Frederik Helsen,Pieter De Meester,Alexander Van De Bruaene,Charlien Gabriels,Béatrice Santens,Mathias Claeys,Guido Claessen,Kaatje Goetschalckx,Roselien Buys,Marc Gewillig,Els Troost,Jens-Uwe Voigt,Piet Claus,Jan Bogaert,Werner Budts +14 more
TL;DR: In adults with a systemic RV, there is no relation between echocardiographic or CMR-derived sRV systolic function parameters at rest and peak oxygen uptake, even after adjusting for associated cardiac defects or pacemakers.
