Diastolic Left Ventricular Function in Relation to Urinary and Serum Collagen Biomarkers in a General Population.
Zhenyu Zhang,Susana Ravassa,Wen-Yi Yang,Thibault Petit,Martin Pejchinovski,Petra Zürbig,Begoña López,Fang-Fei Wei,Claudia Pontillo,Lutgarde Thijs,Lotte Jacobs,Arantxa González,Thomas Koeck,Christian Delles,Jens-Uwe Voigt,Peter Verhamme,Tatiana Kuznetsova,Javier Díez,Harald Mischak,Jan A. Staessen,Jan A. Staessen +20 more
TL;DR: In a general population, the non-invasively assessed diastolic LV function correlated inversely with uCI and serum markers of collagen I deposition, but positively with uCIII, which generalise previous studies in patients to randomly recruited people, in whom diastol LV function ranged from normal to subclinical impairment, but did not encompass overt diastolics heart failure.
Journal ArticleDOI
Left Atrial Strain Determinants During the Cardiac Phases.
Georgiana-Grațiela Mălăescu,Oana Mirea,Răzvan Capotă,Aniela Monica Petrescu,Jürgen Duchenne,Jens-Uwe Voigt +5 more
TL;DR: In this article, the determinants of left atrial (LA) strain in all phases of the cardiac cycle were investigated using speckle-tracking echocardiography.
Journal ArticleDOI
A new search for the atomic EDM of 129Xe at FRM-II
F. Kuchler,E. Babcock,Martin Burghoff,Timothy Chupp,S. Degenkolb,Isaac Fan,Peter Fierlinger,F. Gong,E. Kraegeloh,W. Kilian,S. Knappe-Grüneberg,T. Lins,M. G. Marino,Jonas Meinel,B. Niessen,Natasha Sachdeva,Z. Salhi,Allard Schnabel,Frank Seifert,Jaideep Singh,S. Stuiber,Lutz Trahms,Jens-Uwe Voigt +22 more
TL;DR: In this article, a new effort at FRM-II incorporating 129Xe and 3He as a co-magnetometer can potentially improve the current limit by several orders of magnitude.
Journal ArticleDOI
Determining optimal noninvasive parameters for the prediction of left ventricular remodeling in chronic ischemic patients
Frank Rademakers,Jan Engvall,Thor Edvardsen,Mark Monaghan,Rosa Sicari,Eike Nagel,José Luis Zamorano,Heikki Ukkonen,Tino Ebbers,Vitantonio Di Bello,Jens-Uwe Voigt,Lieven Herbots,Piet Claus,Jan D'hooge +13 more
TL;DR: The optimal noninvasive parameters and methodology in a given ischemic substrate that best predicts the impact of an intervention on adverse morphological ventricular remodeling and functional recovery and the relative predictive value of each of these parameters will be determined by DOPPLER-CIP.
Journal ArticleDOI
The association of volumetric response and long-term survival after cardiac resynchronization therapy.
Ivan Stanković,Ivan Stanković,Ann Belmans,Christian Prinz,Agnieszka Ciarka,Ana Maria Daraban,Martin Kotrc,Marit Aarones,Mariola Szulik,Stefan Winter,Aleksandar N. Neskovic,Tomasz Kukulski,Svend Aakhus,Svend Aakhus,Rik Willems,Wolfgang Fehske,Martin Penicka,Lothar Faber,Jens-Uwe Voigt +18 more
TL;DR: Volumetric response assessed at 1-year after CRT is strongly associated with long-term mortality, however, an optimal cut-off cannot be established; the association of the correction of mechanical dyssynchrony with survival was stronger than that of any volumetric cut-offs.
